Present: Mayor, A.D.IvIcAllister, City Clerk, J.W.McGehee, City AttorneysR ice ickson, City Engineer, E.T.Brown, Aldermen; Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, real, antlers, Shook and Ucker. Minutes of the regular meeting of Sept.18th, were read and approved. The following bills were presented, after their approval by alderman Peal, chairman of the auditing committee: Jackson cafe $5.30, S.W.Gas & Electric Co. $18.46, J.W.Shelley $7.60, S.VI.Gas & Electric Co. $7.55, W.E.Gregg $11.65, The Automotive Inc. $1.06 &$$1.53 Ben Porter $17.50, Elmer B$yd 814.40, Herschel Holloway 12.00 Hugh Pool 10.00, A.F.Shumate $720.00, Willie Wilcox $12.00, James Slay den 81.50 & $735.50, and N.M.Bare $54 Alderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be allowed,•as approved, secomded by alderman Ucker, which was regularly passed by the Council. The following reports for the month of August, were read by the Clerk: Augus reportsV.James Ptak as Police Judge, A.D.McAllister, as Ex -Officio Chief of Police and as Ex -Officio Chief of the Fire Department, Clyde Walters as Building Inspector, Roy Nix as Sewer Service Collector, Jw McGehee as City Clerk add as City Collector, alderman Peal made a motion that the reports he received and filed, seconded by alderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council. Alderman Gregory made a motion that the Street ommat� together with the City Attorney and City Engineer be instucted to get all the inf ormatio the pricy to available, relative to Paving mprovementK Districts, that might be interested in pavinqI with ll.P.A.Labor, also to investigate the proposition of buying or renting a rock crushe purchase or, rent this motion was seconded by alderman Hosford, and on roll call by the Clerk, received the unanimous vote of the Council. Rock Crush r Roller Alderman Ucker made a motion that Stop Signs be placed on North dregg Avenue Stop Sigris on 4t Lafayette Street, seconded by alderman Hosford, and on roll cal]. by the Clerk, received the following vote: Ayes: Hosford,Peal, Shook and Ucker. Nays: Bronsons`arter regg at L fayette Gregory and Sanders. Alderman Bronson made a motion that the Cvrd be received and filed, seconded by alderman Acknowled nent Gregory, which was passed unanimously by the Council. There being no further business, alderman Hosford moved to adjourn, seconde Aderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the ouncil adjourned. Alderman`Shook made a motion that the bills be allowd as approved, secohded by alderman Ucker, which was regularly passed by the Council. Crnn ittee The Mayor called the attention mf the Council to.a meeting od the Arkansas M t unicipal League in Little Rock October. 10th, and suggested that the Council send a to Little Rock good representation, alderman Brohson made a motion that a Committee consisting of the for Nu icipal Mayor,6ity Attorney, and 2 Or 3 Aldermen attend this meeting, the motion was seconded by alderman Carter, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Inter ,it was suggested League meeting that this same Committee go to Pine Bluff to inspect a Truck and Ladder outfit being; offered for sale by the Pine Bluff Fire Department, and also to Investigate several Second Hand Rock Crushers being offered for sale. Alderman Sanders, chairman of the Street Committee, reported the progress they Offer to buy had mada in securvng Right-of-way on tlaple Street, and after discussion, alderman Gregory made a motion that the Council offer Iurs. Beulah Cruse the sum of Fifty Dollars corner of lot ($50.001 for a certain strip of land off the corner of her lot, and agree to protect the part taken by the City with a wall in keeping with the wall on the West side of her Mrs.Cr se Property, beginning 6 feet South of the corner and extending to a point �1,9 feet East of the corner of her property ling, this motion was seconded by aldermanCKOW ,�and on roll call by the Clerk received the following vote: Ayes; Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Shook and Ucker. Nays; Bronson and Sanders. And the Mayor declared harried, as there were 6 Ayes, and 2 Nays, The Mayor.reRorted there was a possibility of North College Avenue Paving N.A.MCCrtney Improvement District o.l getting a refund from the State Highway Department) and report ed that there was a vacancy in the Board of Commissioners, caused by M.A.Stice having appointed disposed of his Property in the District, and alderman Carter made a motion that -Comriissigner in PT.A.McCartney be appointed as a Commissioner in this District, seconded by alderman College Arve Hosford, and on roll call by the Clerk, received the unanimous vote off the Comncil.
