Fayetteville City Council met in regular session, Monday, Sept. 25th, 1939.
Present: Iolayor, A.D.McAllister, City,Clerk, J.W.McGehee, City Attorneys pr ice gickson,
City Engineer, E.T.Brown, Aldermen; Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, real, antlers,
Shook and Ucker. •
Minutes of the regular meeting of Sept.18th, were read and approved.
The following bills were presented, after their approval by alderman Peal, chairman of
the auditing committee: Jackson cafe $5.30, S.W.Gas & Electric Co. $18.460 J.W.helley
u7.60, S.W.Gas & Electric Co. x'7.55, W.E.Gregg $$11.65, The Automotive Inc. 6 &x$1.53
Ben Porter $17.50, Elmer Bgyd 14.40, Herschel Holloway x'12.00 Hugh Pool }10.00,

Alderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be allowed,•as approved, secomded by

The following report's for the month of August, were read by the Clerk:

Ex -Officio Chief of the Fire Department, Clyde Walters as Building Inspector, Roy I•Tix
as Sewer Service Collector, Jw McGehee as City Clerk add as City Collector, alderman
Peal made a motion that the reports be received and filed, seconded by alderman Bronson,
which was duly passed by the Council.
The Mayor reported.that the prospects were good for quite a bit of 6J.P.A.,-�abor

purchase or rent this motion was seconded by alderman Hosford, and on roll call by the Clerk, received
the unanimous vote of the Council.

Roller Alderman Ucker made a motion that Stop Signs be placed on North Gregg Avenue
Stop Sigas on At Lafayette Street, seconded by alderman Hosford, and on roll call by the Clerk,
received the following vote: Ayes: Hosford,Peal, Shook and Ucker. Hays: Bronson,garter
regg at L fayette Gregory and Sanders. There being 4 Ayes and 4 Nays, the Mayor then cast his vote
a�✓nst the motion and declared the motion lost.

' The Clerk read a card from the Futrall Family, acknowledging their gratitude

Alderman Bronson made a motion that the Cerd be received and filed, seconded by aidermai

There being no further business, alderman Hosford moved to adjourn, secondee
Aderman Bronson, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the
ouncil adjourned. �j

Present: Mayor, A.D.hlcAllister, City Clerk, J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson,
City Engineer, E.T.Brown, aldermen: Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders,
Shook and Ucker.

as approved, secobded by alderman Ucker, Which was regularly passed by the Council.
The Mayor called the attention e5f the Council to.a meeting od the Arkansas
Municipal League in Little Rock October 10th, and suggested that the Council send a
good representation, alderman Brohson made a motion that a Committee consisting of the
Mayor,'-�ity Attorney, and 2 Or 3 Aldermen attend this meeting, the motion was seconded
by alderman Carter, and Was passed unanimously by the Council. Later ,it was suggested
that this same Committee go to Pine Bluff to inspect a Truck and Ladder outfit being,
offered for sale by the Pine Bluff Fire Department, and also to investigate several
Second Hand Rock Crushers being offered for sale. >
Alderman Sanders, chairman of the Street Committee, reported the progress they
had mada in securing Right-of-way on h'Iaple Street, and after discussion, alderman
Gregory made a motion that the Council offer hrs. Beulah Cruse the sum of Fifty Dollars
($50.001 for a certain strip of land off the corner of her lot, and agree to protect
the part taken by the Ciity with a wall in keeping with the wall on the West side of her
Property, beginning 6 feet South of the corner and extending to a pointu15 feet East
of the corner of her property ling, this motion was seconded by alderman,�nd on roll
call by the Clerk received the following vote: Ayes; Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal,
Shook and Ucker. Nays; Bronson and Sanders. And the Mayor declared tarried, as there
Were 6 Ayes, and 2 Nays.

ed that there was a vacancy in the Board of Commissioners, caused by YI.A.Stice havin
disposed of his Property in the District, and alderman Carter made a motion that
