The absence of•Mayor McAllister tiaras noted and alderman Hosfor'd made a motion that alderman Sanders act as Mayor-Protem, seconded by alderman Ucker which received the nanimous vote of the Council. Alderman Gregory made a motion that the City renew their contract with R.0 Fram ers & CO. to audit the records of Receipts and Disbursements of the City Clerkand dity ollector of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,for the years 1939 and 1940, for a fee f $$125.00 per year, or a total fee of $250.00 for the biennium ending December 31st, .940, the fee to be payable at the rate of $$125.00 upon the completion of each year's ud it , Also, to audit the records of the receipts and disbursements of the City 'ater Plant of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the years 1939 and 940, for a ee of $125.00 per ,year,' or a total fee of 250.00 for the biennium ending December 31st 9401the fee to be payable at the rate of $$125.00 upon the completion of each year's and his motion was seconded by alderriman Carter, and on roll call by the Clerk, received he unanimous vote of the Council: Since the next regular meetinK sept 4th would come on Labor Day, alderman Ucker moved to adjourn till Tuesday Night, September 5th at.8 Otclock, seconded by adlderman Bronson. which was duly passed by the Cou e i1„ and the Majaor declared the Council adjourned. Alderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be alll6wed, as approl- ed, seconded by alderman Shook, which was regularly passed by the Council. . The Mayor presented the request of tI?e Commissioners of Sewer improvement district —Ido• 1 to reduce the percentage of assessdd benefits to be collected for the ,year 1939s romin��a ter discussion, it was decided to postpone action till the fewer Committee could make an investigation of the f inancidl condition of the District. Dr.Roy J.Turner was present, and requested the Council to pass an Ordinance to extend the Sanitary Laws of the City one mile outside the City limits, after discussion it was decided that a chancery court injunction probably would be the quickest method' of controlling the situation. Fire Captain Walter gregg vias present and invited all members of the Council to attend the weekly fire drill Wednesday night to inspect and check up on the progre$s of the reorganized department. There being no further business, alderman Bronson moved to adjourn, seconded by alderman Sanders, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned.
