Alderman Bronson made a motion that the bills be allowed, as a seconded by alderman Ucker, which was duly passed by the Couhcil. `4uite a number of owners of Meat Markets and Restaurants appeared before th Council and asked for an adjustment on the fees charged for license* after discussion, alderman Sanders made a motion that a committee of three be appointed to confer with Dr Roy Turner -to see if a satisfactory adjustment could be worked out and report next Mond Night, this motion was secondedd by alderman Peals which was regularly passed by the Co and the Mayor appointed the following committee; Sftnders, Bronson and Peal. Miss Suzanne C.Lighton'appeared to ask the Council to take some action to require the Jerpe Dairy Products Co; to to elimdaiate Odora which she said were adversely affecting property owners and business houses on Dickson and nearby Streets. The Mayor asked a committee, consisting of aldermen ; Sanders, Hosford and Uc: and City Atorney, Price Dickson to confer with the Plant owners to see if something can worked out to eliminate the odors, which are said to'tome from a buttermilk comdenser. Alderman Aronson introduced an.ordinance, entitled " AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TION ONE OF ORDINANCE N0. 7 4 6. OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: The ordinance was read in its entirety by the City Clerk, alderman Bronson mo that the rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading, seconded by an Ucker, which was regularly passed.by the Council. The ordinance was read the second time by the Clerk, and after discussion, al Sanders moved that the rules be further suspended, and the ordinance placed on its thdrd end final reading, seconded by alderman Peal, and on roll call by the Clerk was passed Ynanimously. The Mayor then put the question " Shall the Ordinance pass" on the Clerk calling the roll, the following vote resulted: lyes; Bronson,Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Absent and not voting; Carter and Gff�ory. and the Mayor declared, carried, as there were 6 Ayes and no Nays. -� Alderman Peal made a motion that .the emergency clause be adopted, seconded by alderman Shoop, amd on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote resulted: Ayes; Bronson, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Nays; None. ; Absent and not votirig Carter and Gregory; And the Mayor declared the emergency clause adopted, as there were 6 Ayes and no Nays. ORDINANCE N0. 8 2 9 . AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION ONE OF ORDINANCE NO. 7 4 6 OF THE CITY OF FA ARKANSAS. BE IT ORDAINED, By the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansasi SECTION ONE: Section one of Ordinance no.7 4 6* is hereby amended to read as folio " That hereafter buildings of frame consteuction, veneerdd outside with brick, stone or other non-combustible material, and to be used as residences or apartments or apartment houses, may be erected on lots within the first fire zone, provided they are not located in the main business districts, or in such location as to prevent any likely expansion of said main business district or districts of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas: and also provided that the buildings are constructed in compliance with the rules, rggulatie and other requirements described hereinafter in this ordinance". SECTION TWO: All or and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are herel repealed, and confusion having arisen as to the construction of Section One of Ordinance no.7 4 6. and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, hea d safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be an in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
