Present: Mlayor, A.D,M.cAllister, City Clerk, J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson, City Engineer, E.T,Brown and aldermen: Brobson. Carter, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Absent: alderman Gregory. Minutesof the regular meeting of March 27th, were read and approved. Mayorlselected Alderman Sanders made a motion that the Mayor be selected as Purchasing Agent as purchasing for the next year, seconded by alderman Shook, which was passed unanimously by all membel agent of the Council who were present. There being no further business, Alderman Bronson moved to adjourn, seconded by alderman Sanders, which was duly passed by the Council., and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned. Alderman Sanders made a motion that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to sign an agreement betwwen T.J.Raney and sons,and the City of r'ayettevilld, Arkansas. This motion was seconded by alderman Gregory, and on roll call by the Clerk, received the following vote: Ayes; Bronson, Cabter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal and Sanders. Absent and not voting : Shook and Ucker. And the Mayor declared the motion carried, as there 6 Ayes and no Nays. This agreement made and entered intg.on this the 10th day of Apri1,1939, by and etween the City of Fayetteville and T.J.Raney & Sons, Bond Brokers, 7IITNESSETH: For and in consideration of the City of Fayetteville granting to T.J.Raney & Son he option to purchase 4% Electric Bonds at par and accrued interest, said bonds to be ssued in the event the City of Fayetteville purchases the electric distribution system ,ow privately owned; T J"Raney & Sons hereby undertake%to work out a plan whereby the Ci if Fayetteville can issue bonds in a sum sufficient to purchase said electric distributi ystem,which•plan shall meet with the approval of the City Council of the City of Fayett It is further understood that should it become necessary to test the validity of aid bonds or the proceedure in connection with the issuance -of said bonds, the City of 'ayetteville'will pay one-half (z) of the costs of said, court proceedure but in no event hall the payment by the City of Fayetteville exceed $1 50.00 and no court proceedure shall ie instituted or pursued'except by and with the consent and approval of the City Council) if the City of Fayetteville* and T.J.Raney & Sons. . Alderman Sanders s the motion, which received the unanimous vote of all members of the Council,present, (which was 6 in number) and the Mayor d6dlaiF6dX so declared. The City Clerk called the Council together and administered the Oath of office to Ir4ayor A.D.McAllister. Mayor McAllister then administered the Oath of Office�'City Clerk, J.W.McGehee, and Aldermen$pronson, 1st Ward; J.C.Peal, 2nd Ward; J.K.Gregory. `13rd.Ward) and Geo.T.Sanders, 4th 'lard. Roy Nix, City Treasurer and V.James Ptak, Police Judge. Alderman Gregory moved that the Council go into executive session, secondedby alderman Peal, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared.the Council in executive session. After discussion of various administrative matters, alderman Bronson moved that the Council go,out of executdve session, sedonded by alderman Hosford, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council in regular session. Ido fufther business appearing, alderman Hosford moved to adjourn, seconded by alderman Sanders, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the C adjourned. Alderman Sanders made a motion that the bills be allowed, as approved, seconded by alderman Bronson, which was duly passed the Council r- The Mayor presented the•proposition of the Farm Security Administratimn desiring Office Space in the City Administration Building after July 1st, Alderman Carter made a motion that they be notified.that they could have Office Space on the third floor of -the City Administration Building, free of Rent , provided, however that the Farm Secubi Administration is to take care od.all the -expense incurred in•making the Offices usable Alderman Peal seconded the motion, and on roll call, received the following vote: Ayes Bronson, Carter,Hosford, Peal and Shook. Nays: Gregory and Sanders. Absent and not voti Alderman Ucker. And the Mayor declared passedr,' as there were 5Ayes and 2 Nays, Alderman Bronson moved that.the Council go.into executive, seconded by alderman Shook, which was regularly passed.by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council in executive session, after discussion of various administrative affairs, alderman Hoeford made a motion that the Council go out of executive session, seconded by alderman SRnder which was regularly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council in regula: session.
