until the whole of said local assessments shall be paid.
SECTION. 2 . ALL ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed, and it appearing that the contract for the improvements contemplated in said
district has already been lets and that the work is being delayed, and this ordinance) being Kgddb
neccessary for the preservation of public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and publication.

Minutes og-> the regular meeting of February 20th were read and approvbd.
The following bills were presented, after their approval by alderman Peal, chairman
the auditing committee; J.Shelley $6.75, Skinner & Kennedy Stationery Co. x"9.15,
Jackson C fe $4.250 Ben Porter $p17.50, Elmer Boyd $10.00, A.F.Shumate $p20.00, Willie
Wilcox $A.00. Alderman Shook made a motion that the bills be allowed, as appnoved,
seconded by alderman Peals,which was duly passed by the Council.
XtXNXGXH 3SKd34XX The Clerk read a request from H.C.Hansen, County Supervdsor of
the FARM SECURITY ADMINISTRATION for permission to erect a sign at the entuance to his
office, which would have to be lower than the building ordinance requires, Alderman
Sanders made a motion that a committee of two be appointed to act with the Mayors and
that the Com mittee have power to act, alderman Peal seconded the motion, which was regularly
passed by the Council, and the Mayor appointed the following Committee; Aldermen;
Sanders and Ucker.
The Mayor presented the -request of Mrs. Waterman to buy the Horse`"Trough
belonging to the City, after discudsion it was decided to tell her that it was not for,
sale at the present time.
The Mayor presented the proposition of laying a sewer line to the new Leverette
Sewer line School, Alderman Sanders made amotion that the matter be referred to the Sevier Committee
o Leverette ith power to act, seconded by alderman Hosford which received the unanimous vmte of all
members of the Council, who were present.

Alderman Peal, chairman of the auditing committee reported that he had examined
Amnual the,report of the Commissioners of Paving District No 43, and made a motion that the report be
report of approved and filed, and that Dr. Melton's resignation as a member of'the Commissioners of
District this district, be accepted, alderman Shook seconded the motion, which was passed in the regular
way,
There being no further business, alderman Hosford moved to adjourn till
Wednesdays March Ist at Seven- thirty P.M., seconded by alderman Bronson. which was
duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned.

January The following reports for the Month of January, were read by the Clerk; J.C.Massie
as Police Judge, Earl H nd as actig Chief of lrolice, Clyde Walters, as Fire Chief and
Reports as Building Inspector,x oy Nix as Sewer Service Colletor, J.111.McGehee as City Collector
and as Clty Clerk. Alderman Bronson made a motion that the reports be received and filed
seconded by alderman Ucker, which received the unanimous vote of the Council
The Clerk read a commmnication from P.M.Brickey of Sherman, Texas, asking information
Letter, about relatkve, to a Franchise for the operation of a SiffX City Bus line, in the City of
City Bus Line Fayetteville. Alderman Gregory made a motion that the matter be referrddto the Street
Committee, with power to act, seconded by alderman Hosford, which was duly passed by the
C odne it .
Clean up Week The Mayor presented the proposition of "Clean up Week" for the City, and after
discussion, Alderman Sanders made a motion to have the "Clean up Meek", and to leave
the setting of the time, to the discretion of the I✓!ayor, alderman Peal seconded the motion
which received the unanimous vote of the Council.
W,C.Whitfield appeared before the Council, and asked for "Special Parking Priveleges"
in front of his place of business on NiErthEast Street , after discussion, it was decided
to take no action.
Alderman Gregory amd Mayor McAllister made a report on the trip of the committee
to Little Rock that day in the interest of the Gasoline Turnback bill for the Cities,
but expressed a doubt as to the success of their trip.
There being no further business, Alderman Hosford moved to adjourn, seconded by
alderman Ucker, which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared ;the
