Communication I A communication was read from Senator Clyde T.E111s, expressing his sincere apes from Senator preciation of the splendid manner in which the Mayor and Councilmen handled the Clyde T Elilis.entertainment og the'Army Engineers; Saturday Noon, Oct. the 8th, and felt that they would all be well repaid, by a favorable report from the Engineers, on the decelopmen of the Ozarks. ' Alderman Hosford presented the proposition of some of the private Sewer lines being overloaded by having too many customers using the same line, and after some dis cussion, alderman Sanders made a motion that the Sewer committee contact the Commiss- ioners of Sewer Improvement District No.I, relative to having this condition remedied on Oakland and Buchanan Streets, alderman Hosford seconded the motion, which was duly passed by the Council. Alderman Hosford made a motion that the Council go into executive session, seconded by alderman Carter and was unanimouslypassed by the Council, after discussil of various matters, alderman Shook made a motion that the Council go out of executive -.session, seconded by alderman Bronson', which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council -in regular Session. 'Alderman Ucker made a motion that the Ordinance Committee be prepared to present a proposed Ordinance at the next regular meeting,,.providing for a general occupption tax, to become effective January Ist 1939. Nays: None, The Mayor declared the motion passed and the resolution adopted. Report of Alderman Peal ,chairman of the auditing committee, reported that he had examined Com, of annexthe report of the commissioners of Annex No.I to College Ave. Improvement district, and no.Ito South found the same to be correct, Alderman Gregory made a motion that the report be receiv- College Imp, and filed, alderman Shook secondedX the motion, which was passed unanimously by the Dis.l recd. Council. and filed. Messrs. E.Gary and F.F.Stice of City Park Addition appeared before the Council E.Galy and to protest their assessments in Annex No.I to Sewer Improvement District No..I, as being out of line with the assessment of property of similar value and location in their dis= F.F.Stice trict and more particularly the, new houses that had been constzluctedin the last few protest their years, and also reported the ftp equality of assessments i.n ver the entire City Park assessments Addition. in City Park, Alderman Gregory made a motion that the Sewer Committee confer with theCom- missioners of Annex No.I to Sewer Improvement District No.I to ascertain if any thing can be done relative to having a more equitable assessment made of this district -and committee to report back to the Council at the next regular meeting, alderman Carter secondees the motion, which was passed unanimously by the Council. N.Y.A.Project The N.Y.A.Project and the Sewing project presented a request that the City XXSewing Project furnish gas to heat the rooms occupied by them this winter, and alderman Ucker made a.I request gas m&tion.that their request be granted , alderman Peal seconded the motion, which was passe for the unanimously bj, the Council. winter.
