After discussion by the council, it was decided that the inspector was within his rights in.stopping constz till the ordinance was complied with ih regard,to advertisilpg "Notice" to construct buildings. Adderman Sanders made a motion that•a committee of three be appointed to chec values of the petitions of the nine proposed Paving Improvement districts onfile N city clerk to ascertain if they had the required two-thirds majority -in value of natures. The motion was seconded by Alderman Shook and was duly passed by the Council. The mayor appointed the following committee: Aldermen: Bromson, Shook, and Pe The mayor reported• that the committee, consisting of mayor, A.b%,. McAllister, E. T. Srown and alderm8n. Sanders and.Ucker who had made the trip to little Rock, f the purpose•of securing aid from the State Highway Department for .the constructior pabement on Garland Abenue, had been successful,as the Highway Department had agree their part of said construction. Earl Hand presented the proposition of remarking the streets for the purpose parking two paralel lines of cars on the East and West Sides of the Square, which thought would take care of the parking of 40 additional cars. The minutes of the regular meeting of Sept. I9th were read and approved. Alderman BrA on made a motion that the bills be allowed ,as approved, and the City Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for the same, upon the.proper funds, alderm Shook seconded the motion, which was duly passed by jthOouncil The proposition was presented, that some of the Car Dealers were using the st for parking of cars, held for sale, storage or repairs. The Proposition Of the City doing the work of repairing the Pavement, when the same has been cut by the Property Owner,for any reason, was discussed, and the City Engineer was intructed to figure out a price per foot, for such work, so that the Property Owner would know how much each repadr job would cost. Alderman Hosford Moved to adjourn till One Oclock, Thursday, September the 29th, I938. Alderman Carter seconded the motion, which was passed unanimously, and the Mayor so declared.
