McAllister, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Price Dickson, City Eng E. T. Brown, Aldermen; Bronson, Carter, ANX*X Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker Absent; Alderman Gregory. Minutes of the regular meeting held March 14,1938, were read and approved. Bills; The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of the Auditing Committee; Coles Cafe $$19.55, Bobs Gro. $1.64, C. S. Duggans $$5.50, We S. Duggans $13.31, Lyle Allen $2.50, Ben Porter $17.50, Emmett Boyd $$9.25, Bud Collins $$12.00, M. S. Gabbard $64.34, A. F. Shumate $$20.00, Bill Wilcox $12.00, The Automotive dyp13,93. Alderman Bronson moved that the bills be allowed as approvA and the dlerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Sanders and carried unanimously. Reports; The follcming reports for the month of February were read in their entirety by the Cler Clyde Walters as Fire Chief and as Building Inspector, J. C. Massie as Police Judge, Earl Hap des Acting Chief of Police, Otoe Phillips as City Collector and as City Clerk. Alderm�r`moved that the reports be received and filed. Alderman Hosford seconded the motion which carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared. The matter of collecting delinquent dog tax.was discussed, as Mr. Shelley will `s una to collect same. Alderman Sanders moved that the Mayor and the Acting Chief of Police attend to this matter. The motion was seconded by Alderman Hosford and received the unanimous vote of the Council. Rental of Old Airport for the balance of 1938 was discussed. Alderman Sanders made a mo tion that Henry Walker be rented the Old Airport to December 31st for the .sum of $$75.00 subject to possible sale, rent to be considered if sold. Alderman Ucker seconded the motion which carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared. Alderman Peal mov c�,�th a --t.-• he Council go into exutive session. Alderman Bronson sec- onded the motion die aay` r declared the Council in executive session. After discus- sion of various matters Alderman Bronson moved to go out of executive session. The mo- tion was seconded by Alderman Hosford and carried unanimously and the Mayor declared the Council in regular session. Alderman Bronson moved that the Council adjourn to meet at 7 o'clock next meeting night Alderman Shook seconded the motion which carried and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned. City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Price Dickson, City Eng E. T. Brown, Aldermen; Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook, Ucker. Minutes of the regular meeting held March 21, 1938, were read and approved. Bills; The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal., Chairman of the Auditing Committee; Coles Cafe $12.40, Harper Brush Works $$5.43, R. E. Kennard $$15.57, Ben Porter $}17.50, Bud Collins $$12.00, Emmett Boyd $$12.00 Bill Morris $6.00, Be N. Tune $$6.00, S. E. Evans Contractor $5.00, City Water Plant 640.34, A. F. Shumate $p20.00, Bill Wilcox $12.00. Alderman Carter moved that the bills he allowed as approved and the Clerk Be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Ucker and carried unanimously. Victor E. Russum of the County Election Commission appeared before the Council relative to expenses of the City General Election to be held April 5, 1938. He stated that $1.50 per day was the legal charge XKdUXX_J4KNXP,1i€ 6X for Judges and Clerks and asked the Council if they cared.to pay more. After discussion Alderman Ucker moved that the Judges and Clerks be paid $2.50 each for holding the City General Election April 5, 1938, Alderman Hosford seconded the motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council and the Maw or s.o declared. A petition-was' pr-esented protesting the use of an outside taxi cab call station in the vicinity of Reagan and Arkansas Avenue, signed by a number of property owners and res- idents. No action was taken. The report of Roy Nix as Sever Service Collector for the month of February was read. Alderman Peal moved that the report be received and filed. Alderman Carter seconded the motion which was duly passed by the Council. A letter from W. N. Alderman Ucker seconded the motion. On the Clerk's calling the roll the following vote resulted; Ayes; Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook, and Ucker. Nays; None. The Mayor declared carried as there were 8 Ayes and no Nays. Street cleaning being under discussion Alderman Sanders moved that the Hotels be no- tified that after May lst, 1938, cars will not be allowed to park on the pavement be- tween the hours of 2 AM'and 6 AM. Alderman Peal seconded the motion% On the Clerk's calling the roll the following vote resulted; Ayes; Bronson, Gregory, Peal, Sanders. Nays; Carter, Hosford, Shook, Ucker. The vote resulting in a tie the Mayor voted Aye, thereby carrying the motion.
