Brown, Aldermen Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and UckE Minutes of the regular meeting held February 14th, 1938, were read and approved. ills; The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of the Auditing Committee; Republic Printing Co. $4.89, Cole's Cafe $6.50, City Water Plant $12.60, Tom Eads 5.1.50, R. C. Frambe.rs & Co. $125.00, Ben Porter $17.50, Bud Collins $6.50, Emmett Boyd $5.50, Kinney Armstrong $3:00, The Automotive $0.72, Bill Wilcox $4.00, A.. F. Shumate $20.00. Alderman Bronson moved that the bills be all.owed� as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funm The motion was seconded by Alderman Gregory and received the unanimous vota,of.the Council. Jim Kiester appeared before the Council asking permission to put a cold drink stand, or. \\ the place vacated by ''gill Arnold on South East Street. After discussion Alderman Greg- ory moved that this request be rejected. Alderman Hosford seconded the motion Which carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared. A group of Taxi men appeared before the Council asking the Council to regulate Taxi fares within. the City limits. After discussion Alderman Sanders moved that the Mayor appoint a com"Mitte of three with the City Attorney to meet with representatives of the different Taxi lines in the City to investigate the matter. Alderman Bronson seconded the motion which carried unanimously. The Mayor named on this Committee Sanderg Greg- ory, and Shook. The condition of certain sewer lines was brought before the Council. After discussion Alderman Sanders moved that the Chairman of the Sewer Committee of the City Council as the Chairman of the Sewer Commissioners to have a joint meeting. Alderman Gregory sec- onded the motion which received the entire vote of the Council. The Ordinance on its second reading was carried over. A motion to adjourn made by Alderman Hosford and seconded by Alderman Bronson was duly by the•Council and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned. Attest;.Approved; � •�!i! Ci y C er . Mayor. After discussion of the Shelley bill Alderman Bronson moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds...The motion was seconded by Alderman Shook. On the Clerk's calling the roll the following vote resulted; Ayes; Bronson, Carter, Gregor Hosford, Peal, Sanders and sicker. Nays; Shook. The Mayor declared carried as there were 7 ayes and 1 nay. The Arkansas Municipal League bill for $80.00 to Sep. 1, 1938, was discussed. Alderman Gregory moved that the Clerk be instructed to pay half of this bill, balance to be paid XXX_DEXKRXRKXN June 1st. The motion was seconded by Alderman Bronson and carried unani- mously. A letter from Ed Poore asking for City license in payment of work done on Summit Ave. was read. Alderman Peal moved that the matter be referred to the Street Committee. The motion was seconded by Alderman Carter and received the entire vote of the Council. A motion to adjourn made by Aldermen Bronson and seconded by Alderman. Hosford was duly passed by the Council and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned. Attest; Approved; CIZY Clerk. Mayor.
