After discussion, Alderman Carter moved;; ._
that the Maydxr appoint a Committee of three to further investigate the matter. This
motion was seconded by Alderman Peal and received the unanimous vote of the Council.
The Mayor then appointed Aldermen: Carter,Gregory and Bronson to act as this Committee,
The matter of Dr. F. R. Morrow's bill for $30.00 and Red Cross Drug Store for $15.96
for Hinkle was discussed. Alderman Ucker moved that these bills be allowed without
admission of liability. This motion was seconded by Alderman Bronson and received
the unanimous vote of the Council, and the Mayor so declared,

There being.no further -:business, Alderman Bronson moved that the Council adjourn. This
motion was seconded by Alderman Gregory and was duly passed by the Council, and the
Mayor declared the Council adjourned,

Ucker.
Minutes of the regular meeting held February 7th, 1938, were read and approved,
The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of
the Auditing Committee; The Blairs, Stationers $1.12, Coles Cafe $8.20, Sandford & Son
1.79, 71ashington Hotel $9.69, N W Ark. Times .;$11.28, Bud Collins $12.00, Emmett Boyd
)12.00; Ben Porter ;$17,50, Otoe Phillips City Clerk $0.451 He L. Tuck Super Service
$18,15, Sandford & Son $3.00, west & Bloyd $1.80, Arthur Cassatt x'$1.92, Mrs Alex Great-
house $1.50, Russell Winters $1.40, Tom Sims $1.05, Bill Wilcox $12.00, He L. Tuck Su-
per Service x$6.76. Alderman Hosford moved that the bills be allowed as approved and
the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds, The motion was
seconded by Alderman Ucker and received the unanimous vote of the Council.
"The following reports for the Month of January were read in their entirety//the Clerk;
Clyde Walters as Building Inspector and as Fire Chief; J. C. Massie as P0 ice Judge,
:M, E, Hand as Acting Chief of Police, Otoe Phillips as City Collector and as City Clerk
Alderman Sanders moved that these reports be received and filed, Alderman Bronson sec-
onded the motion which carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared.
Jas R. Greer appeared before the Council asking that he be allowed to put a shingle
roof on his residence which is in the Intermediate Fire Lone. It was pointed out to him
that this is prohibited by Ordinance.
The Ordinance relative to parking certain vehicles at an angle to the curb which is now
on its secondreading was carried over,
The matter of Equipment belonging to C. Be Pierce, former City Engineer, as follows;
1 Level, 1 Transit, 1 Chain, 1 Rod, 1 Pole, 1 City Map Copy Right & Tracing, 1 County
Map Copy Right & Tracing, was offered to the City for $175.00. Alderman Sanders moved
that this purchase be made, half to -be paid by the Street Dep't and half to be pdid'l?y
City Plater Dep't. Alderman Bronson seconded the motion which received the entire vote
of the Council.
The Mayor brought to the attention of the Council a proposition for a Radio Station to
be located on the 3rd floor of City Administration Building. By motion of Alderman Bron
son, seconded by Alderman Sanders and duly passed by the Council, the matter was re-
ferred to the Building Committee,
A proposal by wade Fincher to buy a strip of land of 15 or 20 acres on north or south
side of the old Airport was presented to the Council, After discussion Alderman Sanders
moved that a strip of land on the north side of the old Airport containing 15 or 20
acres be offered XXX Mr FincheB for VXZ XGOX $150.00 per acre. The motion was seconded
by Alderman Peal and rete&ved the unanimous vote of the Council.
A move to adjourn made by Alderman Bronson and seconded by Alderman Gregory was duly
passed by the Council and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned.
