McAllister, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Price Dickson, Alderme Alderman Hosford moved that the Mayor inform C. E. Pierce, present City Engineer, that beginning the first day of January, 1938, as a matter of economy and expediency, the office of City Engineer will be combined with that of the Water Superintendent, and al duties of the City Engineer will be henceforth performed by the Water Superintendent, and that Mr. Pierce be extended the thanks of the City Council for the efficiency of his tenure in office and for the fine manner in which he has cooperated with the City Administtation in the performance of his duties as City Engineer. Alderman Peal second ed the motion which received the entire vote of the Council present and the Mayor so declared. ater Alderman Gregory moved that the terms of employment of Edgar T. Brown as City Water up't Superintendent be signed by the Mayor and the City Clerk. Alderman Sanders moved that the bill for $25.00 City Fire Department be held up. This motion was seconded by Alderman Carter and unanimously passed by the Council. Alderman Bronson moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. This motion was seconded„by Alderman Shook and received the entire vote of the Council present. Liability A bill for additional Liability Insurance during construction of City Building was Insurance resented. Alderman Gregory moved that this be referred to the Insurance ''o mmittee. New Bldg: his motion was seconded by Alderman Bronson and carried unanimously. Protests to assessments in Annex Noel Sewer Improvement District Noel were deferred. F. Shumate $20.00. Due to conflicting work by Special Police cover- ing vacations of regular force Alderman Sanders moved that the bill for Lyle Allen be held up for further consideration. Alderman Hosford seconded the motion.which was duly passed by the Council.'Alderman Gregory then moved that the remaining bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be indtructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Shmmk and carried unanimously. After further inveal- tigation of the Allen bill Alderman. Sanders moved that this bill be allowed. Alderman Shook aecouded the motion for adoption of this resolution, and upon being put before the Council received a unanimous vote,and the Mayor so declared. Alderman Gregory moved that the Mayor appoint a permanent Utilit$�t ommittee. This hnotion was seconded by alderman Hosford and carried unanimously. Adams & Wiferesented bond to be substituted in lieu of revenue bond in the sum of Six Hundred (600.00) Dollars held in escrow by rdcIlroy Bank & Trust Company. Alderman Sanders moved that the Mayor and Water Committ be authorized to execute bond if and when the Commissioners sign. This motion was seconded by Alderman Carterand was duly passed by the Council. J. D. Hurst presented a petition to remove the two-hour parking limit on South East Street from MountAin to Rock Street. This petition was signed by all business men of the Street. Alderman Carter moved that his request be referred to the Street Committee for recommendation.This motion was seconded by Alderman Hosford and carried unanimousli iaP. B: F. McAllister appeared before the Council with respect to posts driven in parka Alderman Gregory moved that the Superintendant of City Water Plant execute a surety bond in favor of the City of Fayetteville for $5000.00, and that the Mayor countersign all warrants drawn.Alderman Shook seconded this motion which was duly passed by the Council. Mayor McAllister announced as members of the Utilit*104jommittee: Alderman Gregory,Chr'mn, Sanders and Hosford.
