Alderman Hosford moved that the Mayor inform C. E. Pierce, present City Engineer, that
beginning the first day of January, 1938, as a matter of economy and expediency, the
office of City Engineer will be combined with that of the Water Superintendent, and al
duties of the City Engineer will be henceforth performed by the Water Superintendent,
and that Mr. Pierce be extended tho thanks of the City Council for the efficiency of
his tenure in office and for the fine manner in which he has cooperated with the City
Administtation in the performance of his duties as City Engineer. Alderman Peal second
ed the motion which received the entire vote of the Council present and the Mayor so
declared.

p't Superintendent be signed by the Mayor and the City Clerk. Alderman Hosford seconded the

Alderman Sanders moved that the bill for $$25.00 City eire Department be held up. This
motion was seconded by Alderman Carter and unanimously passed by the Council. Alderman
Bronson moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to
draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. This motion was seconded,.by Alderman
Shook and received the entire vote of the Council present.
Liability A bill for additional Liability Insurance during construction of City Building was
Insurance resented. Alderman Gregory moved that this be referred to the Insurance �;o mmittee.
New Bldg: his motion was seconded by Alderman Bronson and carried unanimously.
Protests to assessments in Annex Noel Sewer Improvement District Noel were deferred.
Auto Alderman Gregory introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:

Porter $17.50, A. F. Shumate $20.00. Due to conflicting work by Special Police cover-
ing vacations of regular force Alderman Sanders moved that the bill for Lyle Allen be
held up for further consideration. Alderman Hosford seconded the motion.which was duly
passed by the Council.'Alderman Gregory then moved that the remaining bills be allowed
as approved and the Clerk be indtructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Sh66k and carried unanimously. After further inves-
tigation of the Allen bill Alderman Sanders moved that this bill be allowed. The motion
was seconded by Alderman Hosford and received the entire vote of the Council present.
