Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday August 91h,1937,
Presentl:Mayor A. D., McAllister, City Clerk Otoe Phillips,City Attorney Price Dickson, City
Engineer C.'E. Pierce. Aldermen: Bronson.,, Carter, Gre,rrory,Hosford, Pead., Sanders,Shook
and Ucker.
Oakland J. F. Parks gpeared before the Council, asking that a sidewalk be put in on East side o
side- Oakland Ave., affecting Hughes and Tri Delt fraternity property. Alderman Bronson
walk; oved that this matter be referred to a Committee of three. Tl;is motion was seconded by
Alderman Sanders and duly passed by the Council. The Mayor then appointed the Street
Committee to act as this Committee. .
The Council then listened to a discussion of car testing equipment by representatives
of the t7eaver•, Bear and Bendix Companies. No action taken.
Alderman Bronson moved that the Council adjourn subject.to'call of the Mayor.

Alderman Ucker moved that the bills be allowed as :,proved and the Clerk be instructed
to draw warrants upon the proper funds in payment of same. This motion was seconded by

The. matter of sidewalk on Wall Street was again brought up for discussion. Alderman

F. P. Fiarle appeared before the Council relative to erecting a building on the 3)uth
side of Dickson street, in Block 4, Original Town, stating that his plans were already

made before he found out that the propertyr was in a residential district, and had to be

advertised as to objections to same for a certain length of time. After discussion,
Alderman Sanders moved that the North end of Block 4, Original Town, between Church and
Locust approximately 160 feet, be placed in the Fire Zone, and that the Ordinance Com-
mittee be instructed to draw up an Ordinance to this effect. This motion was seconded
by Alderman Hosford, and received the unanimous vote of the Council.

on purchase of motor testing equipment. This motion was seconded by Alderman Ucker, andl
upon the motion being put before the Council resulted in :the following vote: Ayes: Carter,
Gregory,ilosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Nays: Bronson. The Mayor declared
carried is there were seven Ayes and one Nay. Mayor McAllister then appointed Aldermen
Greg y, Carter and Peal as the Committee of three. mot'on

Holford, Peal, 'ganders, Shook and Ucker. Absent: City Clerk Otoe Phillips, and City
Attorney Price Dickson. v
Upon motion of Alderman Sanders seconded by Alderman Holford and carried unanimously,
Alderman Bronson acted as Clerk of the session.
Motor
Alder^an Ucker moved that the Building Ordinance be changed to read "That any building
testing
or portion thereof which is designed, built, rented, leased let, or hired out or occ'upi-

Alderman Sanders. On the question being put before the Council, the following vote
resulted: Ayes: Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hos£ord,Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Nays:
None. The Mayor declared carried as there were eight Ayes and no Nays.
Alderman Carter made a motion *which was seconded by Ald. Gregory that the report of the
Committee on purchase of Motor Testing equipment be received and filed. This motion re-
ceived the unanimous vote of the Council.
