McAlister, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Price Dickson, City Mnfg explaining their. car.inspection•.:machinery in detail. No Engineer C. E. Pierce, Aldermen: Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders and Co.- Execu- Alderman Gregory moved that the Council go into Executive Ucker. Absent: :Aderman Shook. tive Carter, and carried unanimously. The Llayor declared the Minutes of the previous meeting held July 19, 1937 were read and approved. Session: Alderman Bronson moved thtt the Council go out of Executive Session, seconded by Alderma Ucker and carried unanimously, and the Mayor declared the Bills:The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of Session. the .Auditing Committee: Will Morris $1.75; Jackson Cafe $2.60; Ross Seasley $5.00; Jas Bohanan $$12.00; Ben Porter x}17.50; TomEads $2.50; Ozark Salvare Coo $1.07; The Texas - Co., 630.85; A. F. Shmute 422.50; Alderman Gregory moved that the bills be allowed as ' approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants upon the proper fundsin payment of same. This motion was seconded by Alderman Hosford and carried unanimously, and the Mayor so declared. Shumate Alderman Gregrory moved that A. F. Shumate be returned to regular salary of $20.00 per on reg- week, beginning August 1st, Alderman Hosford seconded the motion, and upon the ular question being put before the Council received the unanimous vote and the.Mayor so Sala -y: declared. . A motion -to adjourn was made by Alderman Ucker. Shumate 020.00; Lewis Bros. Co. 42.09. Alderman Bronson moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrents upon the proper funds in payment of same. This motion was seconded by Alderman Carter and carried unanimously, and the Mayor so declared. Petition A petition for sidewalks on property adjoining Flall street between Cemetery and School Ldaforon Streets signed by residents was presented. After discussion, Alderman Sanders moved that action on this be deferred until Monday the 9th, This motion was seconded -by F7all at l'derman Peal, and received the unanimous vote of the Council. Sewer A request from Sewer Commissioners asking Engineering services for certain new Exten- extensions was presented* Alderman Gregory moved that the matter be referred to the sions: Sewer Committee with power to act, recommending cooperation, seconded by Alderman fosf ord and carried unanimously. Police Alderman Sanders moved that warrant for July salary J. Co Massie Police Judge be Sai�ry: issued in regular order, seconded by Alderman Gregory, and duly passed by the Council. Motor- SXrgeant S. Hendricks of the State Police was present and discussed at length the Vehicle proposed official testing station for motor vehicles. Alderman Ucker moved that the Testing City establish an official inspection station for motor vehicles and that the Mayor Station: appoint a committee of three to investigate ways and means of securing same. Alderman Bronson seconded the motion. On the Clerk's calling the roll, the following vote resulted•Ayes: Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Shook and Ucker. Nays: Sanders. The Mayordeclared carried k�ka ttrare were seven Ayes and one Nay. Mayor .P.icAllister then appointed as this Committee.:. -- -_- Ucker, Bronson and Shook. Alderman Bronson moved that the Council go into Executive Session, seconded by Alderman Shook, and carried unanimously, and the Mayor declared the Colxncil in Executive Session.
