HomeMy WebLinkAbout1937-07-06 Minutes2,96 for presentation next Monday night, Report The report of C. 0. Jacobson, Dairy Inspector, for the year ending June 30th, 1937, of was presented. The report stated that all milk being legitimately sold in Fayetteville Dairy is Grade A milk and listed a number of improvements in dairy plants. Insp,- Alderman Sanders of the Street Committee reported as to findings on operation of car inspection station by the City. No action was taken, The need of ice for the drinking fountain was brought to the attention of the Council by the Mayor, who said that the City Water Plant would give $2.75 per month and the Chamber of Commerce $0.75 per month. Alderman Carter•moved that the City allow $3.00 per month for ice. Aidermn Ubker seconded the motion which carried unanimously, Rest The possibility of using the vacant lots west of the City Building for parking and for Room recreational and rest room service was discussed. Alderman Sanders moved that the Mayor Ziervice: appoint a conmitte of three to act with the City Attorney in contacting the owners, Carmichael and Silverman, relative to the matter. Alderman Hosford seconded the motion which carried unanimously, The Mayor named as this Committee Ucker, Sanders and Bronson No further business Alderman Hosford moved to adjourn, Alderman Shook seconded the mo- tion which was duly passed by the Council and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned. Shumare $22.50; Alderman Shook moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed ro draw warrants upon the proper fund^ in payment of same, This motion was seconded by Alderman Ucker and carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared, Jer e A letter was read from Jerpe Dairy Products Corporation stating that conditions Dairy relative to odors from Buttermilk evaporating plant had been corrected, Alderman Product -Bronson moved that this letter be received and filed; seconded by Alderman Shbok,and duly passed by the Council. The matter of City Inspection of cars vas discussed; no action taken, Porch on Dr. Ellis' Joe Randolph appeared asking permission on the office of Dr. E. F, Ellis, Bronson moved that this permit be to enclose a College Ave., same granted subject to porch to being in approval be used as a library the Fire Zone. Alderman of Building Inspector; Office: seconded by Alderman Ucker and carried unanimously. Alderman Peal moved that the Council go into Executive Session, seconded by Alderman Shook, and b&rriedr:undnimpusly;l,andothe'Mayor?declared the Council in Executive Sessi Alderman Ucker moved the Council go.out of Executive Session, seconded by Alderman Hosford, and carried unanimously, and the Mayor declared the Council out of executive Session. There being no further business, Alderman Bronson moved that the Council adjourn; seconded by Alderman Shook, carried unanimously, and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned.
