Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday, June 21st, 1937,
Present; Mayor A. D. McAllister, City Clerk Utoe Phillips, City Attorney Price Dickson, Aldermen
Bronson, Carter, Peal, Sanders, Shook, and Ucker. Absent; City Engineer C. E. Pierce,
Aldermen Gregory and Hosford.
Minutes of the regular meeting held June 14th, 1937, were read and approved.
Bills; The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of
the Auditing Committee; Jackson Cafe $11.15, H. We Armstrong 414.40, H. C. Moore $5.20,
Bossemeyer & I¢CBride $60.30, Jas Bohannon $12.00, Ben Porter 17.50, Ross Seasley
v75.50, George Reinlds $p0.75, S'kelley Oil Co. 46.86, A. F. Shumate $22.50, Skelly Oil
Co. $5.62. Alderman Carter moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk
be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. Alderman Ucker seconded
the motion which carried unanimously and the May rn so declared.
Reports The following reports for the Month of May were presented; Clyde Walters as Building
of Inspector, Otoe Phillips as City Clerk and as City Collector. Alderman Bronson moved
that the reports be received and filed. Alderman Peal seconded the motion which re -
May: ceived the entire vote of the Uouncil present.
Several residents of the City who own cows were present asking for information regard-
ing current rumors as to keeping cows within the 6ity limits. The matter was referred
to the.�,ity Health Ufficer.
R.B.Scotj R. B. Scott appeared before the Council stating that he wished to erect a residence on

Due to the absence of the Chairman of the Ordinance Committee no report was given as

seconded the motion which carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared.
ise The reed of a pick-up truck for use in the Street Department was brought to the atten-
xp tion of the Council. After discussion Alderman Peal made a motion that the Street
Committee be empowered to purchase a second-hand pick-up truck at a cost not to exceed
$100.00. The motion was seconded by Alderman Bronson and carried unanimously.
No further business Alderman Sanders moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded by
Alderman Bronson and duly passed by the Council and the Mayor declared the Council
adjourned.

15.00 I The matter of decorating the City Building for the "40 et 8" Convention to be held
for July 3rd, 4th, and 5th, was presented to the Council by Bob White of the local "40 et
"40 et 8' 8". He stated that that the organization would take care of expenses over $15.00.

Propose Tom Lavender of the Carpenters Local Union presented a petition asking that G. C.
G. C. Wages be appointed Building Inspector. Alderman Carter made a motion that the petition

The matter of keeping cows in the City was again discussed. By motion of Alderman San-
ders, seconded by Alderman Hosford, and duly passed by the Council, the City Attorney
was instructed to prepare an Ordinance amending existing Ordinances on this subject

The report of C. 0. Jacobson, Dairy Inspector, for the year ending June 30th, 1937,
was presented. The report stated that all milk being legitimately sold in Fayetteville
is Grade A milk and listed a number of improvements in dairy plants.
Alderman Sanders of the Street Committee reported as to findings on operation of car
inspection station by the City. No action was taken.
The need of ice for the drinking fountain was brought to the attention of the Council
by the Mayor, who said that the City ;'later Plant would give $$2.75 per month and the
Chamber of Commerce $$0.75 per month. Alderman Carter moved that the City allow $$3.00
per month for ice. ALdermn Ubker seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
The possibilitypof using the vacant lots west of the City Building for parking and for
recreational and rest room service was discussed. Alderman Sanders moved that the Mayor
appoint a committe of three to act with the City Attorney in contacting the owners,
Carmichael and Silverman, relative to the matter. Alderman Hosford seconded the motion
which carried unanimously. The Mayor named as this Committee Ucker, Sanders and Bronson
No further business Alderman Hosford moved to adjourn. Alderman Shook seconded the mo-
tion which was duly passed by the Council and the I+Iav or declared the Council adjourned.

A letter was read from Jerpe Dairy Products Corporation stating that conditions
relative to odors from Buttermilk evaporating plant had been corrected. Alderman
:Bronson moved that this letter be received and filed; seconded by Alderman Shbok,and
duly passed by the Council.
The matter of City Inspection of cars was discussed; no action taken.

seconded by Alderman Shook, carried unanimously, and the Mayor declared the Council
adjourned.
