(Road W. S.. Campbell and Bert Lewis of the C amber of Commerce appeared before the Council
Repair i
wth reference to the condition of roads leading into the City, stating that the County
is without funds to do necessary work on roads and that the Chamber of Commerce had
Leading expended $100.00 and asking the City to appropriate a like amount to continue needed
repairs. After XXXAXXkkl discussion Alderman Sanders moved that the City donate such
o amount from Street Fund up to $100.00 as necessary to make such reuairs. Alderman Peal
' y seconded the motion. On the Clerks calling the roll the following vote resulted; Ayes;
Bronson, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Ucker. Nays; Carter, Gregory, Shook. The Mayor de-
clared the motion carried as there were 5 ayes and 3 nays.
The matter of City Civil Service ;^ias brought up for discussion. Alderman Hosford moved
that the City send the City Attorney and the Fire Chief to Little Rock to see what
could be worked out to the best interests of the City, Alderman Gregory seconded the
motion which carried unanimously.
No further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Bronson, seconded by
Alderman Sanders, and duly passed by the Council, and the favor declared the Council
adjourned.

and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for the same upon the proper funds.
Alderman Ucker seconded the motion which received the entire vote of the Council and
the Mayor so declared.
The report of D. W. Read. as City Inspector was read by the Clerk. Alde^man Carter made
a motion that the report be received and filed. Alderman Peal seconded the motion
which received the unanimous vote of the Council.
The matter cf bill pending in the Legislature as to PW.; aid in Municipally owned
Utilities was discussed. Alderman Gregory moved that the Mayor wire the Legislators
urging passage of the bill as being sanctioned by the Council. Alderman Peal seconded
the motion which carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared.
The purchase of Machine and equipment for repairing pavements was discueed at length.
Alderman Gregory moved that the Street Dept and the City Engineer be authorized to
purchase such machine at a cost of $285.00, also necessary equipment and materials
for operating. Alderman Carter seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
No further business Alderman Ucker moved to adjourn. Alderman Gregory seconded the
motion which was duly passed by the Council and the Mayor declared the Council ad,journe
