Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday, December 14,1936.
Present: Mayor A. D. McAllister, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Price Dickson
City Engineer C. E. Pierce.Aldermen:Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Ganders,
Shook and Ucker.
Minutes of the regular meeting December 7th, were read and approved.
Bills: The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman
of the Auditing Committee: Royal Type1writer Co. $6.00; 0. N. Tucker $29.15; Frank
Tucker $12.00; Co Stuart $10:00; Fred Blackwell $8.00; Monroe Osborn $1.00; Robt.
Tucker 6.00; Will Morris $6.00; Ben Porter $17.50; Jas Bohanan $11.00; The Automotive
$2.63; A. F. Shumate $20:00; Ed Black $12.00; Suttle Service Station $3.50; Rogers
Electric Co. 77 cts. Alderman Bronson moved that the bills be allowed as approved
and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. The
•mbttonwas seconded by Alderman Carter and carried unanimously.
Cut Requests were read asking permits to cut curb for making drive -ways for Martin Flood,
Curbs: 512 Walnut st., and Dr. A. M. Harding, Washington Ave., Alderman Ucker moved that
these permits be granted under supervision of City Engineer, seconded by Alderman
Carter and carried unanimously.
Official Reports of Otoe Phillips,City Clerk and Collector and Police Judge, J. C. Massie
Reports: for the month of November were read. Alderman Sanders moved that these reports be
received and filed, seconded by Alderman Hosford and carried unanimously.
Interest A bill from First National Bank for interest on Overdrafts was presented:

Alderman Bronson moved that this bill be referred to the Finance Committee; seconded
by Alderman Sanders and carried unanimously.
A letter was read from Southwest Bell Telephone Co., asking authorization for
ion installing extension at Frisco Depot for use of Police Department at night. Alderman
one: Sanders moved that this extension be made, seconded by Alderman Hosford and carried
unanimously.

Alderman Gregory of the Building Committee reported that work on the jail had started

The matter of membership in the State Firemen's Association for the Fayetteville

roup was presented. Alderman Carter moved that the City pay the Annual fee of

for fourteen (14) members of the Fayetteville Fire Department; seconded by
Alderman Peal, and carried unanimously.

Clyde Walters, Fire Chief, asked for three more tarpaulins for the,Department.

Alderman Gregory mbved that this purchase be authorized, seconded by Alderman Ucker
and unanimously passed bythe Council.
There being no father business, Alderman Hosford moved to adjourn, seconded by
Alderman Sanders and carried unanimously, and the Mayor declared the Council
adjourned.

and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the properfunds. The motion
was seconded by Alderman Shook aryl carried unanimously.
Interest Alderman Gregory of the Finance Committee Deported with reference to bill for Interest
on on Overdrafts that on account of average balances, the First National Bank had agreed
Overdits:to withdraw the overdraft charges on operating accounts.
Alderman Gregrory moved that $5000. be borrowed from Street Fund to take careof the
Fire r'und Overdraft. The motion died for want of a Second.
A petition was presented to open a street from North Street, East of College, to
Baxter Street. After discussion, Alderman Bronson moved that this,matter be referred
the Street Committee and City Engineer for investigation; seconded by Alderman Gregory
and carried unanimously.
The following bids for feedingrpri.soners were read:
