HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936-12-07 Minutes270 Rescind Action Liquor Permit; Liquor permit Granted; esent; City Attorney Price Dickson called the Council's attention to the fact that 'a the applicant Sam Evans for Liquor store permit had already obtained state license and that they were waiving City license by refusing such permit. Alderman Peal moved that the Council rescind their action in the early part of the session.as to the Sam Evans liquor store permit. Alderman Carter seconded the motion. On the Clerk's calling the roll the following vote resulted; Ayes; Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hos- ford, Peal, Sanders, Shook, and Ueker. Nays; None, The Mayor declared the motion carried as there were 8 Ayes and no Nays. Alderman Gregory moved that Sam Evans be granted permission to put in a liquor store at No. 7, East Mountain Street. Alderman Ucker, seconded the motion. On the question being put before the Council the following vote resulted; Ayes; Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook, and Ucker. The Mayor declared carried as there were 8 Ayes and no Nays. No further business Alderman Bronson moved that the Council adjourn. The motion was seconded by Alderman Ucker and duly passed by the Council and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned. Attest; Juv City C er Approved; Mayor. Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday, December 7th, 1936. Mayor A. D. McAllister, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Price Dickson, Aldermen; Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook, and Ucker. Absent; City Engineer C. E. Pierce. Minutes of the regular meeting held November 30th, 1936, were read and approved. Bills; The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of the Auditin Committee; The Blairs $1.12, S. W. Gas & Elec. Co. $331.10, Herbert Lewis Sheriff 117.00, S. 19. Gas &,Elect Co. $4.23, Fayetteville Lbr & Cement Co. $47.963 Wl. W. Harrison $0.50, Ark. Western Gas Co'. $13.52, and $5.67, Democrat Ptg & Lithographing Co. $33.80, Lewis Bros Co. 2.53, Abshier-Bryan $6.43, Linkway Stores Co. $1.33, Ben Porter $17.50, Jas Bohannon $10.00, Phillips Motor Co. $j15,04, Ed Black $12.00, A. F. Shumate $20.00, Lewis Bros Co. $0.64. Alderman Gregory moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Ho%Ord and carried unanimously. City Alderman Gregory of the Committee named to go to Little Rock -to contact XXX Senator Hall: Joe T. Robinson as to W1PA City Hall Project, gave an extended report as to results XXXffiof this connection. After much discussion Aldemman Sanders made a motion that the Mayor, the Building Committee, and the Architect get together for the purpose or laying plans for beginning work on the new E City Building and be given power to act. The motion was seconded ]4M by Alderman Bronson and received the entire vote of the Council. No further business, Alderman Sanders moved Alderman Hosford and carried unanimously and Attest; City erk. to adjourn. -The motion was seconded by XBN the Mayor declared the Council adjourned.
