HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936-11-09 Minutes267 Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday, November 2nd, 1936. Present; Mayor A. D. McAllister, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Engineer C. E. Pierce, City Attorney Price Dickson, Aldermen; Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook, and Ucker. Minutes of the regular meeting held October 26th were read and approved. Bills; The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of.the Auditing Committee; Bohe Gro . Co.o.25, Fayetteville Ptg. Co. $35:87, S. W. was & Elec. Co. $$324.13, Eugene Sharp $5.00, K. W. Edwards4$5.00, 0. W. Stapleton $2.50, Curtis Bynum $2.50 A. C. Mowery $$2.50, Ark. Western Gas Co. $p3.60, The Automotive 1x'1.90, Ben Porter $17.50, Jim Bohannon $$12.00, Elmer Weir $8.75, Phillips Motor Co. 2.50, Bud Drain $$10.00, A. F. Shumate $20.000 Alderman Bronson moved that the.bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Ucker and carried unanimously. Air The condition o2' the Airport was discussed at length, the Mayor stating that he be Port- lieved a permanent Aviation Committee was needed. Alderman Bronson made a motion that discussi nthe Mayor appoint a permanent Aviation Committee. The motion was seconded by Alderman erof manent Peal and received the entire vote of the Council. The Mayor stated that he would name the Committee next ionday night, Nov. 9th. �ommittee• The American Legion asked permission of the Council to install a "Bull pen" on the Bull Pen Public Square Homecoming Day, Nov. 7th. After discussion Alderman Sanders moved that American this permission be granted till 1 P. M. Alderman Bronson seconded the motion. On the Legion: Clerks calling the roll the following vote resulted; Ayes; Bronson,Carter, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook, and Ucker. Nays; Gregory, The Mayor declared carried as there were 7 Ayes and 1 Nay. No further business, Alderman Sanders moved that the Council adjourn. The motion was seconded by Alderman Bronson and duly passed by the Council and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned. Alderman Hosford moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Ucker and carried unanimously. Reports of The following reports for the Month of October were read in their entirety by the Officials: Clerk; Oliver Lollar as City Inspector, Clyde Walters as Fire Chief, J. C. Massie as Police Judge, Earl Hand as Acting Chief of Police, Otoe Phillips as City Clerk and as City Collector. By motion of Alderman Bronson, Seconded by Alderman Carter, and duly passed by the Council, the reports were ordered received and filed. •Galion J. E. Morton of Galion Iron Works & Machinery Co. and Sam Stone of Lyons Machin - Iron VJks ery Co. discussed the merits of their Road Patrols before the Council. No action was taken. y6ns Mach Co.
