Present: Mayor A D McAllister, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Atty., Price Dickson, City
Engineer 0. E. Pierce. Aldermen: Bronson, Carter, Gregory,Hosford,Peal, Sanders,
Shook and Ucker.
Minutes of the regular meeting held September 21st, were read and approved.
Bills: The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman
of the Auditing Committee: Mrs Dwight Chaney $6.00;J W Shelley $13 50; W W Harrison $I
Mrs Pearl Todd $4.50; Ben Porter $17.50; A. F. Shumate $20.00; Jas Bohanan $12.00;
Dick Wallace $6.00. Alderman Bronson moved that the bills be allowed as approved and
the Clerk instructed to draw warrants upon the proper funds in payipent of same, second
by Alderman Shook, and carried unanimously; and the Mayor.so declared.
Report of City Inspector for the month ending September 24, was read. Alderman Ucker
moved that same be received and filed; seconded by Alderman Peal, and carried unanimous„y.
Liquor I Will Johnson, Fort Smith, Ark., appeared before the Council asking for permit to open
License: liquor store is Fayetteville. After discussion,Alderman Sanders moved that the permit
Will be granted; seconded by Alderman Gregory, and upon the question being put„before the
Johnson Council resulted in the following vote: Ayes: Alderman Bronson, Gregory,,Sanders, Shoo
and Ucker. Nays: Carter, Hosford and Peal. The Mayor delcared carried as there were
five Ayes and three Nays.
Municipal A letter was read from the Arkansas Municipal League, announcing the second annual
Leauge convention of the League October 22 and 23rd, Marion- Hotel, Little Rock, Arkansas,
Fayette- asking the Fayetteville Citj> Council to choose subjects from tentative list of subjects
�✓ille for discussion at the meeting, numbering them in order of their importance as regards th
reds: needs of Fayetteville. Alderman Hodford moved that the matter be referred to the
Ordinance Committee, seconded by Alderman Ucker and carried unanimously.

duc'ng WHEREAS, a number of motor driven vehicles have recently been brought within the
jurisdiction of the City of Fayettev'lle Arkansas, and
to WHEREAS, it is equitable that moto krehiclers operated upon the Streets of the City
cense of Fayetteville, Arkansas, for only the latter part of the ,year 1936 should not be
required to pay a City License in an equal amount to the license for a full year,
NOW,THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the kJity Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
that the Mayor of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansis,be, and he is hereby authorized
to issue a proclamation remitting fifty percent (50O) of the annual City Licenses on
motor driven vehicles, operating upon the streets of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas
and now subject to the payment of a City license aforesaid, provided that this resoluti
shall be effectiv4s of September 1st, to December 31st,1936:, and shall cover that
period of time,provided further- that all motor driven vehicles operated upon the street
of the City of Fayetteville, which,,_,.�Inder the Ordinance of the City of Fayetteville wer
subject and liable for a motor vehicle 'SJthe City of Fayetteville prior xxxxm to
September lst,1936,shall not be entitled to the benefits of this resolution, and are

Alderman Gregory introduced an Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance to name a street
ftreet
running East and West in Leverett's second and Leverett's third Addition to the City
Fayetteille,Arkansas".

The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk. Alderman Gregory moved that the
Ordinance be placed on its second reading, &:n6 seconded by Alderman Caxter. This motio
received the Entire vote of the Council, and the Clerk read the Ordinance the second
time. Alderman Ucker then made a motion which was seconded by Alderman Carter that the
rules be further suspended and the Ordinance placed on its third and final reacI.ing. Th

motion was duly passed by the Council, and the Clerk read the Ordinance the .third and
final time. The Mayor then put the question "Shall the Ordinance pass". On the Clerkis
calling the roll, the following vote resulted: Ayes: Aldermen: Bronson, Carter, Gregory
Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Nays: None. The Mayor declared the Ordinance
passed.

AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED: "Ali ORDINANCE TO NAME A STREET RUNNING EAST -AND WEST IN
LEVERETT'S SECOND ADDITION AND LEVERETT'S THIRD ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS".
Naming WHEREAS, a plat of Leverett's Second Addition and a plat of Leve�xett's Third Addition
�� �� to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, have been filed in all repects as required by
Caraway law, in which plats dedication for street,, purposes have been made and adopted by the
Street- City Council of .thec.Qity •of_Fiayetteville, Arkansas, and
WHEREAS said plats fail to designate a name for a street running East and West betwe,
Blocks "B" and "C" in Leverett's second Addition between Lihdell and Garland Avwnues,
and a continuation of said street between Blocks "2" and "3" in Leverett's Third Addi-
aforesaid between Leverett and Storer Averiuesoand,
WHEREAS, it is necessary that said street be as§igndd,=a name, and property owners adjt
to said street have suggested that said street be known and designated as "Caraway
Street!;
NUNI THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville
Arkansas,that the street herein above described lying between Blocks "B" and "C" and
running between Lindell and Garland Aveunues in Leverett's Second Addition and lying
between Blocks "2" and "3" and running between Leverett and Storer Avenues in
Leverett's Third Addition, be, and the same is hereby designated and named "Caraway"
Street".

amount of insurance to be carried by public carriers; seconded by Alderman Peal, and

Ways and means of collecting revenue for Sewer Disposal Plant were discussed at length.
Alderman Bronson moved that the Council go into Executive Session, seconded by
Alderman Hosford,and carried unanimously; and the Mayor declared the Council in Execu-
tive Session.
Alderman Ucker moved that the Council go out of Executive Session, seconded by Alderman
Shook, and carried unanimously; and the Mayor declared the Council out of Executtre
Session.
No further business, Alderman Peal moved to adjourn, seconded by Alderman Bronson,
and passed unanimously, and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned.
