Aldermen: Bronson, Gregory,Hosford, Peal, Shook and Ucker. Absent: City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Engineer C. E. Pierce. Aldermen: Carter and Sanders. Minutes of the regular meeting August 31,1936 :vere read and approfed. Bills: The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of the Auditing Uommittee: Southwest Bell Telephone Co., $59.48; Fayetteville Daily Democrat $$1.60; Arkansas Municipal League x$25.00; Winkleman Print Shop $4.59; Elizabeth Strain Decker $$19.80• Fayetteville Printing Co. $44.98; Southwest Gas & Electric Coo, 0327.58; Jim Gibson 612.00; A. F. Shumate 520.00; Ben Porter $$17.50; Skelley Oil Company $,'54,46 M. S. Gabbard $$22.05; Phillips Motor Co. 42.00; Thomas & Son 75 cents; FJ. E. Gra) Y$19.93; A. D. McAllister (City Park Transients) 61.00. Alderman.Ucker moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proerr funds; seconded by Alderman Hosford and carried unanimously. Annual Report of Improvement District No.35 (Duncan st) for the year ending September 1,1936, Report was read. Alderman Gregory moved that the same be received. and turned to the Auditing Imp.Dist Committee; seconded by Alderman Brosnon and duly passed by the Council. #35 George Appleby asked for a permit to cut curb.at 324 2$orth College to construct drive-ir Gut Curb Alderman Gregory moved that permit be granted under supervision of City Engineer; secor 324 No: ed by Alderman Hosford and carried unanimously. College: Plans were discussed to relieve further traffic congestion; marking of cars every hour being mentioned as an aid to accomplishing this. Alderman Hosford moved that the Mayor Traffic appoint a Committee of three to act with him in working out the problem of traffic Conges- congestion; seconded by Alderman Ucker and carried unanimously. Alderman Bronson moved that the bills be allowed es approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Ucker and received the unanimous vote of the Council. R B Cha -1 A request was read from R. B. Chaney to cut curb at 205-207 and 250 Watson Ave., to ney: make driveways. Alderman Ucker moved- that this permit be granted under supervision of Cut Curb: City Engineer, seconded by Alderman Peal, and carried unanimously. Rock Property owners and neighboring residents appeared before the Council, declaring a Street dance hall on Rock street a nuisance, and asked ass;.star_ce of City in closing same. L. Nettleship; Mrs B. N. Wilson and Mrs 6/. G. Ownby representing the Relief Association appeared before the Council, asking for quarters in the new City Building for the organization. It was arranged to have the Relief Association representatives City Bldg _ Y New Plat Mrs. Nell Wilson Jones, Hugh Wilson, T. S. Tribble and R. D. Goff, property owners in 1.7ilson's Wilson's Second addition asked that they be permitted to close alleys shown in plat 2nd. which never had been opened. They were requested to file a new plat of the Block affected. Complain H. Moore complained of unsanitary conditions on account of out -door toilets in Block out -door 3� Original Town. Mayor McAllister told the Council that a list has been made of all Toilets p operties not connected with the Sevier which are within three hundred feet of a sewer Block 39 line.
