After discussi aces: of the subject in which the City Attorney stated that if these Ordinances were not on the City Records, they should he made null and -.void and this could be done by repealing them. Therefore, Alderman Sanders moved that the Ordinance Committee be instructed to create an Ordinance to repeal Old Lost Ordinances, seconded by Alderman Holford and carried unanimously. Alderman Ucker moved that the meeting hour for..the Council during the Summer months be changed to 7:30, seconded by Alderman Bronson. As all members were not present, motion was withdrawn by consent of the second, it Cel sThe Jail Committee, Alderman Sanders Chairman, reported a price on four Jail Cells. Ark. Mun League vs ^ivil Service Act Report City Plan Com vs J.H.McIl roy. Communication:.was read from J. E. Brunzo, District Mgr. U. S. Employment Service with reference to the possibility of his offices being housed in the new City Building. Alderman Sanders moved that this be referred to the Building Committee, seconded by Alderman Bronson and carried unanimously. .A letter was read from ArkaAhsas Municipal League giving result compiled to date on the poll of City Officials with reference to amending Civil Service Act for Municipal Civil Service to,allow a City referendum concerning its continued use in any given municipality; also a reportfrom the City Planning Commission on the request of J. H. McIlroy to extend the Fire Zone to include Block 1 Original Towh, This report was to the effect that there was no need gt.the present time to extend the first Fire Zone in any direction. Alderman Peal moved that these reports be received and filed, seconded by Alderman Ucker and carried unanimously. H. L. Woodward, U. S. Dairy Inspector, appeared before the Council outlining the Government's program with reference to perfecting the City's Ivtilk supply, and stating that the City's debt to the U S Dairy Department was $25.00 per month beginnning January lst,1936. Alderman Gregory moved that this warrant be issued, seconded by Alderman Carter and carried unanimously. The reports of the City Clerk and Collector for the month. of April were read. Alder Carter move•3 that the -e reports be received and filed,seconded by Alderman Shook, and carried unanimously. The final report of Commissioners in Annex No.2 East Street Improvement District No.l was presented. Alderman Ucker moved that this report be referred to the Auditing Committee, seconded by Alderman Gregory, and unanimously passed by the Council. Disposal Plant Alderman Ucker presented the matter of the City's Sewer^lines crossing property of Ellis Duncan,and stated that $15.00 would satisfy Mr Duncan as to damage to him. Alde Ucker moved that this amount be allowed Irir Duncan, seconded by Alderman Bronson, and duly passed by the Council. Alderman Ucker moved that the Ordinance Committee be instructed to revise Ordinance #139 PrivilegeTax Ordinance, seconded by Alderman Hosford and carried unanimously. 44.. Present, Bills Permit: Henry Be Walker asked permission to cut pavement in alley in Block 29 Original Town, Alderman Carter moved that this permit be granted, to be done under supervision of City Engineer, seconded by Alderman Gregory, and carried unanimously. The question of changing hour of City Council's meeting during the Summer months to 7:30 was again brought up. Alderman Ucker moved that the hour for meeting be changed to 7:30 during the summer months, seconded by Alderman Bronson, and upon the question being put before the Council, resulted in the following vote: Ayes: Alderman Bronson, Hosford and Ucker.. Nays: Alderman Carter,Gregory, Peal, Sanders, Shook, The Mayor declared the motion lost as there wer; five Nays and. three Ayes. A request was received from T. L. Myers to cut Curb for installing sewer line on Lot 14 Davidson Addition. Alderman Ucker moved that this permit be granted to be done under supervision of City Engineer,seconded by Alderman Peal, and carried unanimously. ospitall Mr. J. (: _ "asking that sidewalk be lowered Miss Lola Ellis, South School st., also appeared before the Council, stating that a similar condition with reference to sidewalk existed in front of her property. Alderman Bronson moved that this matter be referred to the Street Committee, Mayor and City Engineer,seconded by Alderman Carter and carried unanimously. Health I Acting Chief of Police Earl Hand stated that a number of people assessed a privilege Ordinance: Tax for operatinMaces had told him they felt that they were not receiving the protection which �\the health Ordinance gave them with reference to inspection etc. T. E. Brinson of the Waffle House Cafe appeared before the Council and made a similar statement with reference to inspections at his place of business. Alderman Sanders moved that the matter of Sanitary Ordinance be referred to,the Ordinance Committee, City Attorney az� Chief of Police to get up data; seconded by Alderman Hosford and receiving the unanimous vote of the Council. U.S.E ment vice: The mater of continuing the monthly payment of $5.00 per month toward rental of U. S. Employment Service was brought up. After discussion,Alderman Sanders moved that if the Chamber of Commerce was not able to secure offices in the Courthouse for the U. S. Employment Service that the City would continue the payment of $5.00 per month through December 31,1936; seconded by Alderman Shook and receiving the entire vote of the Council. There being no.further business, Alderman seconded by Alderman Bronson, and carried adjourned. Atte a Sanders moved that the Council adjourn, unanimously.
