M. Mayor A. D. McAliister, City,.Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Engi eer C. E. Pierce, City Attorney Price Dickson. Aldermen: Bronson, Carter Gregory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The following -bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of the Auditin Committee: Arkansas Municipal League $25.00 dues to September lst,136 J. W. Shelley 21.25; Mrs. E. R. Johnson $p15.00; S. E. Evans Contractor $1.24; Ben Porter $ 15.00; Amer Weir $$2.50; A: F. Shumate $$8.00; Jim Gibson 4$10.00; �`.t sg-bpKc#i w4r*&G), Aldermai: Ucker moved that the bills be allowed as approved, and the Clerk instructed to issue warrants upon the proper funds in payment of same, seconded by Alderman Bronson and and carried unanimously. The resignation of Oliver Lollar as City Inspector, .to take effect May 15,1936, was tendered. After expressions of appreciation for the services rendered by Mr Lollar during the time he had'served as City Inspector, Alderman Sanders moved that this resignation be accepted, seconded by Alderman Ucker and carried unanimously. The City Planning Commission, Deane G. Carter, Chairman and W. S. Campbell, Secretary presented its first annual reoort with abstract of the meeting minutes, attached. Alderman Sanders moved that this report be received and filed, seconded by Alderman Bronson, and received the unanimous vote of the Council. Co R. White transient merchant, appeared before the Council, and assured this body of his intention of not remaining in the City longer than one month, and asked permission to pay the amount of $$125.00 for the month in lieu of a cash bond for $$1,500.00 as ger Ordinance Number 350 After some discussion, Alderman Ucker moved that the Clerk be instructed to accept '$125.00 which is payment for 30 days, which thirty days expires May 23rd,1936;seconded by Alderman Peal, and upon the question being put befor the Council resulted in the follo;aing vote: Ayes: Aldermen: Bronson, Carter,Gree-ory, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Nays: None, The Mayor declared carried as there were eight Ayes and no Nays. The City Attorney brought to the attentiin of the Council that condemnation proceeding previously authorized on R. J. Wilson's property in County Court S.E': S W Lot 1, 9-16-30,.for construction of Over -pass Frisco traclF,had not been started. In the discussion as to necessary.preliminary expense, it was decided that $$10.00 was a satisfactory amount to be paid at this time. Alderman Gregory moved that the Clerk be instructed to issue a warrant for this amount, payable to Circuit Clerk Washington County, seconded by Alderman Bronson, and receiving the unanimous vote,. -.of the Council. Circuit Court Fees to the amount of $$4.50 were presented by Murray Lewis. After the City Attorney had declared these fees to be correct, Alderman Carter moved that the same be paid, seconded by Alderman Peal, and duly passed by the Council. Domino' Alderman Sanders introduced an Ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE Parlors: OPERATION OF DOMINO PARLORS.AND FIXING THE LICENSES THEREOF AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES”. The Clerk read the Ordinance in its entirety. Alderman Sanders moved that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading.# seconded by Alderman Shook and receiving the entire vote of the Council present; and2the+'.Clerk read the Ordinance the second time. Alderman Sanders then moved that the Ordinance be left on its second reading,seconded by Alderman Hosford, and upon the motion being put before the Council, resulted in the following vote: Ayes: Aldermen: Bronson, Carter,Hosford, Peal,Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Absent"and.notsvoting Alderman Gregory. Nays: None. The Mayor declared carried as there were 7 Ayes and. ho Nays. City A communication was read from City Inspector Lollar, stating that conditions:had come Inspector?up which had caused him.to reconsider resigning from City Inspector's duties, and that if the Council saw fit, he would like to continue as City Inspector. Alderman Sanders *Lollar:, moved that Mr Lollar be continued as City Inspector, seconded by Alderman Ucker, and upon the question being put before the Council, resulted in the following vote: Ayes: Alderman Bronson, Carter, Hosford, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Nays. None. nt 243 Absent and not voting Alderman Gregory. The Mayor declared carried and Mr Lollar is continued in the office of City Inspector. at Mayor McAllister stated that W P A Project -codifying City Ordinances -had found a number of City Ordinances which were not on record in the City Clerk's office. After discussii aces: of the subject in which the City Attorney stated that if these Ordinances were not on the City Records, they should he made null and -void and this could be done by repealing them. Therefore, Alderman Sanders moved that the Ordinance Committee be instructed to create an Ordinance to repeal Old Lost Ordinances, seconded by Alderman Holford and carried unanimously. Alderman Ucker moved that the meeting hour for.the Council during the Summer months be changed to 7:30, seconded by Alderman Bronson. As.all members were not present, motion was withdrawn by consent of the second,. it CellsThe Jail Committee, Alderman Sanders Chairman, reported a price on four Jail Cells. No further business, Alderman Sanders moved that the Council adjourn. Alderman Shook seconded the motion which was duly passed by the Council, and the Mavor delcared the Council adjourned. Communication:.was read from J. E. Brunzo, District Mgr. U. S. Employment Service with reference to the possibility of his offices being housed in the new City Building. Alderman Sanders moved that this be referred to the Building Committee, seconded by Alderman Bronson and carried unanimously. rk. Alderman Peal moved that these reports be received and filed, seconded ity by Alderman Ucker and carried unanimously. lan Com vs H. L. Wood.lard, U. S. Dairy Inspector, appeared before the Council outlining the .H.McIl- Government's program with reference to perfecting the City's Iutilk supply, and stating oy, that the City's debt to the U S Dairy Department was $25.00 per month beginnning January lst,1936. Alderman Gregory moved that this warrant be issued, seconded by Alderman Carter and carried unanimously. The reports of the City Clerk and Collector for the month; of April were read. Aldermai Carter moven that the -e reports be received and filed,seconded by Alderman Shook, and carried unanimously. The final report of Commissioners in Annex No.2 East Street Improvement District Noel was presented. Alderman Ucker moved that this report be referred to the Auditing Committee, seconded by Alderman Gregory, and unanimously passed by the Council. Disposal Plant Alderman Ucker presented the matter of the City's sewer^lines crossing property of Ellis Duncan,and stated that $15.00 would satisfy Mr Duncan as to damage to him. Alde Ucker moved that this amount be allowed Mr Duncan, seconded by Alderman Bronson, and duly passed by the Council. Alderman Ucker moved that the Ordinance Committee be instructed to revise Ordinance #3 Privilege Tax Ordinance, seconded by Alderman Hosford and carried unanimously.
