Mayor A. D. 1�cAllister, C.. E. Pierce City Engineer. Aldermen: Bronson, Carter, Grego Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Absent City Clerk Otoe Phillips and Alderman Bynum. Alderman Bronson acting as Clerk of the Session. Minutes of the regular meeting March 30th, were read and approved. The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of the Auditing; Committee: Fayetteville Daily Democrat $p2,76; Woodcraft Shop $$2.00; S. E. Evans Contractor $$4.73; Fayetteville Printing Co. $$.41 The Blairs $5.75; Red Cr( Drug Store $.60; Southwest Gas & Electric Co. $322.22; Arkansas Western Gas Co. $4.4; Herbert Lewis Sheriff $125`.00; Clyde Hight $25.00; Kelley Bros Lumber Co. $$3.83; Thomas & Son .30;Fayetteville Lumber & Cement Co. $34.95; Jim Gibson $$ 4h12.00; A. Graham $4,96; Alderman Bronson moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk instructed to issue warrants upon the proper funds in payment of same. E. P. Pyeatt, Karl Greenhaw and N. F. Drake Committee from Chamber of Commerce presented the proposition of Re�b.� e+st33'--o ke nor h of th%C�iit*, 55 acres of which Lewis Bros, had offered to do a�e " A£er iscu�ssi�` own �tYi t flip Mayor appoint a Committee of three to confer with the Chamber of Commerce Committee on this matter, seconded by Alderman Saunders.-, and carried unanimously. Whereupon, the Mayor appoint Aldermen Sanders, Gregoryand Ucker as this Committee to confer With Chamber of Commer( Committee. The applications for Driver's License for boys and girls under 16 years came up for discussion. In the discussion, it was brought out that to grant these licenses would be in conflict with the State Law which fixes 16 years as the minimum age for which a driver's license can be issued. Alderman Gregory moved that driver's license that do not conform to the State's law not be issued, on the ground that the Council has no jurisdiction over same, seconded by Alderman Sanders, and upon the quest�',op being put before the Council the following vote resulted: Ayes: Aldermen: BjOOtA, arter, Gregory, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker, Nays None: Absent and not voting Alderman Bynum. The Mayor declared carried. A letter was read from J. H. McIlroy asking that the Fire Zone be extended North to Dickson st. Alderman Gregory moved that the matter be referred to the City Planning Board, secor_dedeby Alderman Peal, and upon the question being put before the Council, resulted in the following vote: Ayes: Aldermen Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Peal, Sander: Shook and Ucker. Nays: None. Absent and Not voting Alderman Bynum. The Mayor declare carried. Requests for attendance at meeting of Executive Committee and District Vice-Presiden of Arkansas Municipal League Little Rock, Arkansas, April .9,1936 were read. These letters suggested attendance of City Attorneys. Alderman Ucker moved that the Executive ommittee member Gregory and incoming City Attorney Price Dickson attend this meeting and that their expenses be paid by the City, seconded by Alderman Shook and carried unanimously. New City The question of getting new City Hall readyfor occupancy was brought up. Alderman Iall Bronson moved that the Housing Committee be instructed to get up plans and specifica- tions for remodeling this building, seconded by Alderman Ucker, and upon the question being put before the Council resulted in the follolsing vote: Ayes: Aldermen Peal, Sanders, Shook,Ucker and Bronson. Nays: Aldermen Carter and Gregory. Absent and not voting Alderman Bynum. After discussion, a motion was made by Alderman Sanders and seconded Alderman Carter that the Budget be amended to read that the Night Policemen's salaries be the same as last year. Absent and not voting Alderman Bynum. The Mayor declared carried. Upon further discussion, Alderman Sanders moved that the item of Building Expense x5000.00 be made to include Fire Hose Purchase, seconded by Alderman Gregory, and carried unanimously. A motion was then made by alderman Ucker, and seconded by Alderman Sanders that the Budget for 1936 as amended= ='" be adopted, Upon the question being put before the Council, the following vote resulted:Ayes: Alderman: Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker.
