The Committee appointed to confer with Police Judge, as to interpretation of Ordinance
Ord. Number 789 -Motor Vehicle Ordinance- reported that the Judge' rescinded his previous
#789- decision, and stated that all trucks operated upon -the streets of Fayetteville whethez
confined entirely to hauling within the City were due to pay City motorsvehicle
license.
There being no further business, Alderman Ucker moved' to adjourn, seconded by Alderman
Bronson and carried unanimously; and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned.

Fayetteville City Council met in regular session March 16,1936 7:30 P M.
Present: Mayor A D McAllister, City Engineer C. E. Pierce, Aldermen: Bronson, Carter, Gregory,
Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Absent City Clerk, Otoe Phillips, and Alderman Bynum.

Minutes of the regular meeting March 9,1936 were read and approved.
Bills: The following bills were presented after their approval by the auditing Committee, -
Alderman Chairman. -M. S. Gabbard $5.60; M L Redus $5.70; Elmer Weir $7.50;
Ben Porter $15.00; Jim,Gibson $12.00; A. F. Shumate $18.00:
Alderman Carter moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk instructed
to issue warrants upon the proper fundis in payment of same, seconded by Alderman Shook
and receiving the entire vote of the Council present,.-

Trucks only stored in the City appeared before the Council, asking that they be exempt
ed from paying City License on same. Discussion. No action taken.

stating that they felt that there would be no adequate "Clean -Up" week affecting the

residences unless the Oity continues the practice of handling the expense of this
as they have in the past. After discussion, Alderman Sanders moved that an amount
not to exceed $50.00 be used to "Clean -Up" week, provided the Garden Clubs individualli
and collectively use every effort to see that rubbish is assembled and put out ready
for the trucks when they call and that the date of "Clean -Up" week be set by the ladies
of the Garden Clubs, seconded by Alderman Gregory and carried unanimously, as shown by
thetfollowing vote : Ayes: Aldermen Bronson, Carter, Gregory, Peal, Sanders, Shook and
Ucker; Absent and not voting Alderman Bynum,
Jas McDonald, 14 years of age, applied for permit to drive motor vehicle. The Council
asked McDonald to bring a request from either parent asking for this privilege.

Dr. Ben T Ward appeared before the Council asking that a responsible person be placed

in charge of the Aviation Field. After some discussion, Alderman Gre«o ry moved that
this matter be handled by the Mayor as he sees fit, to the extent that if he thinks
advisable to enter into a contract with a person or persons to have charge of the
Aviation Field, seconded by Alderman Peal, and upon the question being put before the
Council resulted in the following vote: Ayes: Aldermen: Bronson, Carter,Gregory,l%;.
Peal, Shook and Ucker. Nay: Alderman Sanders. Absent and not voting Alderman Bynum.
The Mayor dedlared carried, as there were six Ayes and one Nay.
Dog-
The subjectiof seeing that a Tag was sold for every dog in Fayetteville cane up for

discussion. Alderman Peal moved that some one be appointed to take care of this

utter, and that the penalty of 50 cents on each dog be the compensation of the person
acting, seconded by Aldex•man Bronson and carried unanimously.
There being no further business,Alderman Bronson moved to adjourn, seconded by
Alderman Sanders and carried unanimously. The Mayor declared the Council adjourned.
