Fayetteville City Council met in regular se amilon:!Mgnday,Sept ember 16,1935.
Present: Mayor A D McAllister,City Attorney Rex Perkins, Aldermen: Bronson, Bynum, Carter,
Gregory, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. Acting Chief of Police Earl Hard. Absent:
City Clerk Otoe Phillips; City Attorney Rex Perkins acting as clerk of the session.
Minutes of the regular session September 9th,1935 were read and approved.
Truck- ( Judge J C Massie asked that the Ordinance Committee consider Ordinance levying license
License on trucks.
Ordinance- The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman
of the Auditing Committee: Guy Roberts $12.00; Sandford & Son $1.07; Jno Zillah $10.50;
Ben_ Porter $15.00; A F Shumate $18.00; Mrs S J Parsley 50 cents; Cruse Service Statioi
$2.30, Estle Phelan $8.33; American Ry Express Co. $1.61(Martin Machinery Co. Shipment;
An exception was made on the bill in favor of 0 W Stapleton -4 nights as special police
$10.00. Alderman Sanders moved that the bills be allowed as approved, and the Clerk
instructed to issue warrants in payment of same against the proper funds. This motion
was seconded by Alderman Bynum, and received the unanimous vote of the Council.
Sign Per�_Security Motor Company asked permission to hang Neon sign on Jack Hight Bldg., 10 East
mit: Mountain st. Alderman Gregory moved that this permit be granted, same to be passed
upon by City Inspector, Oliver Lollar. Alderman Peal seconded this motion which was
duly passed by the Council.
Mayor McAllister presented the matter of expense of J K Gregory in attending meeting
of Arkansas Municipal League, Little Rock, Arkansas. Alderman Bynum moved that the
City of Fayetteville pay the expense of this trip. The motion was seconded by
Alderman Shook which received the unanimous vote of.the Council.
Cmt Curb= Requests were read from Roy Williams to cut paving in order to repair sewer line
Cut Paving Original Town Block 16 Lot 3; and from Duggans Plumbing Company to cut curb for
driveway Masonic Addition Block 3 Part Lot 4, -property E J Mathis-. Alderman Carter
moved that these requests be granted to be done under supevision of City Engineer.
This motion was seconded by Alderman Ucker and received the unanimous vote of the
Council.
Out CurbL A request was also received from J C Campbell, asking permission to out curb in
Combs Addition Block 4 lot 1 -same being southwest corner of Willow street and
Huntsville Road- Alderman Ucker moved that this request be granted to be done under
superviaion of City Engineer, Alderman Bynum seconded this motion which catried
unanimously.
A.letterwas read from United Mutual Life Ins Co., Indianapolis, Ind. asking payment
of City of Fayetteville Bond due August 1,1935 $1000.00 and coupon ;25.00. Alderman
Sanders moved that the Mayor be authorized to issue warrant in payment of same. This
motion received the second of Alderman Shook and was unanimously passed.
etition: A petition was read signed by a number of property owners in the district and others
interested, asking for the opening of South Willow street from Highway No.16 (sometime:
referred to as Huntsville Road) to Fourth Street- After an informal discussion of the
subject, Alderman Sanders suggested that this be referred to the Mayor and Street Com.
The report of City Clerk for month of August was read. Alderman Carter moved that the
report be received and filed.Alderman Peal seconded this motion which carried unanimous

Auditing Mayor McAllister presented the matter that the City is without an Auditing contract
Contract,• for the year 1935. Alderman Bronson moved that the matter be referred to the Auditing
ICommittee. This motion was seconded by Alderman Gregory and received the unanimous
vote of the Council.
Lewis The subject of .property line Lewis property, West Dickson st., corner Gregg st was
roperty brdught up. Alderman Gregory moved that the County Surveyor be employed to work
with City Engineer in establishing this property line. Alderman Carter seconded this
ine: motion which carried unanimously.
The report of Alderman Gregory on behalf of Jail Committee and his trip to Municipal
League meeting, Little `tock, was given in detail. Alderman Carter moved that this
report be received and filed. Alderman Peal seconded'this motion which was duly passe(

kland to thefact that it is not now open for public use and is being used by private individ
uals. No action was deemed necessary since the Council held that since the Alley had
ace: been platted and declared an alley -even though it is not now.open and is being used
by private individuals, the title would still remain to the City and the alley subject,
to being opened at any future date.
There being no fubther business, Alderman Bronson moved to adjourn. Alderman.Ucker
seconded this motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council.
