HomeMy WebLinkAbout1935-06-24 Minutes187 FinanceThe Finance Committee reported their recommmendations as follows.with reference to ommittee pyl ills the bills of Eureka Eire Hose Division of United States Rubber Products, Inc., Report on 1,479.65 and Hewitt Rubber Corporation $640.69. -to pay the Hewitt Rubber Company's Hewitt bill in full; and to offer the Eureka Hose Division a cash payment of $479.65, to pay Rubber the balance $1000, in payments of $200, each beginning August 1,1935.0 without interest; Corp. & all of this to be paid out of the General Fund, City of Fayetteville. others: Dr. H. D. Wood appeared before the Council calling attention to drainage from Combs' School District neighborhood to White River above the Pump station. No action taken. Mrs. D.M. A communication was received from Mrs D M Moore, asking permission to out down a Moore: Post Oak tree in Block 4, Lot 3 Englewood, tree located in the alleyvday running East and West in rear of lot; tree to be removed without expense to the City. Alderman Bronson moved that the request be ranted. This motion was seconded by Alderman Ucker and was unanimously passed by the ouncil. A request from the Highway Department that they be allowed to,route Highway No.16 East on Hughes street to Leverett and thence South to Maple. Alderman Gregory moved that this request be granted. Alderman Bynum seconded this motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council. The Mayor declared carried. pisto] Acting Chief of Police reported the need of,ammunition:ifor Machine Gun and indi,vidusl Aldennan 'Gregory moved that the Police Department be authorized to purchase one oox- 50 each for the four policemen5and 1000 rounds of ammunition for machine gun, and that the Chief of Police establish regular practice for the members of the Police fgrce. Alderman Bronson seconded the motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council present. Ozarkfilling Station. asked to have Power Co., move light in front of their Station: Alder& oved that the matter be referred to the Light Committee with power to :act. Alderman Gregory seconded this motion and same received the entire vote of the Council present. There being no further. business Alderman Bronson moved to adjourn. Minutes of the regular meeting Monday June 17th, 1935 were read and approved. Present: Mayor A D McAllister, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Engineer E M Ratliff. Aldermen: Bronson, Bynum, Gregory, Shookand Ucker; Absent: Aldermen: Carter, Peal and Sanders. Bills:The following bills were presented after their approval by the Auditing Committee: Fayetteville Daily Democrat $14.72;Vlinkleman's Print Shop $8.75;Campbell Groc #1 $5.00; Bohe Grocery $2.00;Cole's Cash Store$4.00:'.,AldermmntBynum.movpd'.,that=:the,billsgbe allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to,issue warrants upon the proper fund's. Alderipan Bronson seconded this motion which carried unanimously. Refund of The Clerk called the attention of the Council to four meat markets which had paid the $10. on I license of $25 00 each: W E Graham, Arkansas Pack ing Co., King's Food Market and MeatMkts J F 'Alinchester Cash Market.,.Alderman Bronson moved that each of thes concerns be refunded the •$109 to be equal to the Meat Market License reduced to 15.00. Alderman Bynum seconded the motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council.
