Aldermen: Bronson, Bynum, Carter, Gregory, Peal, Sanders, Shook and Ucker. 'Acting Chief of Police M E Hand. Minutes of the regular meeting April 8th, 1935 were read. The folloViing bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of the Auditing Committee: Fred Eden �j2.50; Mrs A Boyle $1.75; A DT:^McAllister $2.915; C V Day $10.50; C E Crawford $1.50; 0 E Williams, y11.50; Chas Phenix $2.00;Zenola Crook $3.50; Grace Collier7.50; Campbell Grocery No.l $3.50; Bohe Grocery $11.00; H J Powell $2.50; S B Hanna $1.75;. E E Weir $7.50; A F Shumate $36.00; Ben Porter $30.00; Bohe Grocery $2.00; The Automotive $3.58; Red Cross Drug Store $8.75; McAllister Shoe Store $12.50. Alderman Bronson moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk instructed to issue warrants for same upon the proper'funds. Alderman Bynum seconded this motion and same was unanimously carried. A request from WJalter Duggans PlumbingContractor to cut on North College Blk 15, lot part of 1 Original town, for purpose of installing seeder for Standard Oil Co. of Louisana. Alderman Sanders moved that privilege be granted, work to be done under supervision of City Engineer, E M Ratliff. This motion was seconded by Alderman Byn il- and was duly passed by the Council. A bill was presented from J M Guilliams for repairs on his car amounting to $11.70 damage causedtiby protruding piece on stop sign. Alderman Carter moved that this not be allowed, which motion was seconded by Alderman Ucker and was passed by a unanimou vote of the Council. A request was read f om Rogers'Electric Co., for privilege to erect a sign for Ozark Clea ners.A�d-X,g�j moved that this request be granted, work to be done under n- supervision of City Bldg Inspector R E Wages.This motion was seconded y Alderman & dersr and received the unanimous vote of the Council. The itemized bill for Gerie.ral Election expense was presented. Alderman Sanders moved that the City Clerk ask that this bill be rendered as a sworn statement. Alderman Bronsdn•secbnded'-.tnss motion which was unanimously passed by the Council. A request from Kurtz -Moore Coffee Shop to place an Electric Sign at their place of usiness on East Center St. Alderman Bynum moved that this request be granted, ork to be done under supervision of Building inspector R E Wages. Alderman Ucker seconded this motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council A complaint wasread from Mrs Minnie Gimberling with reference to.sid.e -walk line on her property and other property in the same block. Alderman Gregory moved that Mrs. Gimberling's sidewalk be moved at the expense of the City to conform to new line of walk. Alderman Shook seconded the motion which was duly passed by the Council. Standard A request was read from E V Bird Construction Co.,asking permission to cut curb Oil in Block 15, Corner Meadow st and College Ave., -this in order to build driveway to Cut Curb: Filling Station to be erected by Standard Oil Co. of Louisana. Alderman Sanders moved that permit be granted, work to be done under supervision of 'City Engineer. Alderman Carter seconded the motion_ which received the unanimous vote of the Council. Eureka Hose A bill from Eureka Fire Hose Division of U S Rubber Products Co., New York, was Division: presented. Alderman Gregory moved that the City Clerk write the Eureka Hose Co., asking for invoice covering this charge and advising the Hose Co., that this bill ha never been presented to the Council, for payment. Alderman Bronson seconded this motion which was unanimously passed by the Council. The Mayor reported that one Robert Campbell had used some tile from the City Air Porte and wanted to know its value that he might pay for same. Alderman Sanders moved that the matter be referred to Mayor McAlister and City Engineer E M Ratliff for adjustment. Alderman Bronson seconded this motion and same carried unanimously. lean -Up- Alderman Bronson moved that Fayetteville have a "xxixx"Clean Up Week',' appropriating eek". 150. for the expense of same. Alderman Shook seconded the motion. Upon the Mayor putting the question, the following vote resulted: Ayes: Aldermen Bronson, Peal xxx Shook and Ucker. Nayes: RIdermen: Bynum, Carter, Gregory and Sanders. This being a tie vote, the Mayor cast his vote with the Ayes, and declared the motion carried. estern Superintendant Western Methodist Assembly, Sam Yancy, appeared before the Council, ethodist stating the necessity of giving read to Mt Sequoyah a coat of black top and oil ssembly: and the probable cost, asking the City to assist in this expense. Alderman Carter moved that the Street Committee with City Engineer confer with Mr Yancy with refer- ence to the matter and report to the City Council. This motion was seconded by Alderman Gregory and was duly passed by the Council. L Lewis: Mr. L L Lewis appeared before the Council, presenting plans for erecting a building ,on Gregg street, and asking that he be allowed to put steps to the basement of same on City property facing Gregg street. Alderman Sanders moved that the Mayor appoint a committee of three who, with the City Engineer, EM Ratliff,to investigate the matter and report next Monday night. Alderman Bronson seconded this motion which carried unanimously, and the Mayor appointed as this Committee of three, - Aldermen: Sanders,Shook and Gregoryt-to act with the City Engineer. Appoint- ments : Mayor McAllister presented the following appointments for the consideration of the Council: Board of Public Affairs: Art T Lewis Ewing P Pyeatt.
