No further business Alderman Sanders moved that the Council adjourn.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum, and carried unanimously, and the
Mayor declared the Council adjourned.

Minutes of the previousmeeting were read and approved.
Bills: The follovring bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman
of the Auditing Committee: Southwest Be]1 Telephone Co., 4k33.29; Fred trden ;2.50;
Magnolia Petroleum Co. $29.22: Ben Porter $15.nO; A F Shumate t18.00:Ahshier-Bryan
Motor Co. 40'7:7'0: Salsbury General Sh6p 50 cents; Bos smeye..r-MeBride.. ';2.50; Bohe Gro-
cery $21.00. Alderman Bynum moved that the bills be allowed as approved, and the
Clerk be instructed to issue warrants for the amounts, charging same to the proper
funds. Alderman Carter seconded this motion and received the unanimous vote of the
Council. The Mayor declared carried.
Application was read from Brewer electric Co., askingipermission to hang an Electric
sign at Monarch Eat Shops on East Center st. Alderman Carter moved that this be
granted, sameto be done under supervision of Electrical Inspector. Alderman Peal
seconded this motion, andthe same was duly passed ,,y the 'Oouncil.
A letter was read from Dr. Kenneth 0 Warner stating that he hoped the City would
take stens to establish a City Planning Commis s! on. In order to meet the demand
for as4i§tAnbenalong this line, the Arkansas Municipal League is establishing a
planning division. In cooperation with the .Amer•idan Municipal Association, the
Arkansas Municipal League will be Able to provide Arkansas Cities with model
ordinances creating a City Planning Commission and indicating the scope m d duties
to be performed by the Commission. Alderman Gregory, of the Ordinance Committee
will write Dr. Warner .
Mayor Tribble introduced ScobtMayorTom Dougherty, who in turn introduced the
Scouts, and reciprocal compliments were exchanged forcourtesies extended during the
Scout Rule of the City.
Mr. WalkerKel.ley appears before the Council protesting his assessment on Imnrove-
ment District No.35 ( Duncan street). Alderman Sanders moved that a Committee be
appointed to inspect Mr Kelley's property and report to Council Monday night FPbry
18th. Alderman McAllister seconded this motion which carri:e-dounalimously. The
Mayor appointed Aldermen Shook, Sanders, end Bynum a Committee to make this investi-
•- ga t io n and reports,
Mr. Kelley brought, to the attention of the Council an abandoned house c+t 8pf Vest
Center st which is unfit for habitation and is considered a fire hazard. Mayor
Tribble appointed the samP committee as above to investigr:tn the conditwon of this
house and report.
Alderman Gregory and his Committee were retained for further service in connection
with property covering eastern extens-lon of Highway #62.
Report of Finance Committee relative to recent Resolution offered by Southwest. BP]1.
Telephone Company: Committee suggests that matter be deferred indefinitely. Aldermen
Bynum movedthat thisreport be received and '.Acccipted. blderman Sanders seconded this
motion and upon the question being put, received the unanimous vote of the Council.
There being no further business, Alderman Gregory moved the Council adjourn. Aldermen
Shook seconded the motion and was unanimouslypassed b}+ the Council. The Mayor
