Fayetteville City Council met in regular session December 31'st,1934.
Present:) Mavor Tribble. Aldermen: Bynum, Carter, Gregory, McAllister, Peal,Sanders, Shook
and Stanford. City Atty, Rea Perkins, City Engineer c M Ratliff, City Clerk Otoe
Phillips, L'_cting Chief of Police Earl Hand.
Minutes: The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills: The following bills approved by the Auditing Committee, J C Peal Chairman, were
presented, and upon motion of Alderman Sanders which was seconded by Alderman
Grecory were approved and ordered paid by a unanimous vote of the `'ouncil.

A request from the Marathon Filling Station, caner Mtn & Church, C D Carmichael -
owner, Earl 1111 Hall, Operator, to remove curb at that point and he allowed to make
gradual slope at the corner was read. Alderman Sanders moved that the request be
granted, wolik to be done under supervision of'�-Iity rngineer. Thismotion was
seconded by Alderman McAllister and carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared.
A communication signed by Kenneth 0 'Warner, Director of Arkansas Municipal
League, announcing meeting of all City Officials of Arkansas, Jany 4th,1935, North
Little Rock Arkansas. Purpose of the meeting to hear report of the Lefislative
Committee, looking toward determining what measures shall be sponsored by the
forthcoming Legislature. This brought up the question of Fayetteville joinung the
Arkansas Municipal League. Alderman McAllister moved that Fayetteville become
a member of Arkansas Municpal league. This motion, was seconded by Alderman Stan-
ford, and upon the question being put resulted in the following vote: Ayes:Bynum,
Carter, Gregory, McAllister, Peal, Shook and Stanford. Nayes: Alderman Sanders.
The Mayor declared carried. City Clerk Otoe Phillips was instructed to mail
check for one half the ,years' dues (annual dues $50.) to Venneth 0 Warner, Dirocto
of the League. A1der"a n Peal moved that the Mayor be authorized to attend the
League meeting, Jany 4th,1935, with expenses paid. This motion was seconded by
Alderman Bynum.
Alderman Stanford moved that $3000. be borrowed from the City Street and placed to
the credit of General Fund to cover outstanding indebtedness of Fire Fund. This
motion was seconded by Alderman Gregory and carried unanimously and the Manor so
declared.

Fire Chief Clyde Walters presented the matter of Pump equipment for City Fire
Trucks, and told of the "Booster Pump" which will provide the pressure needed and
will use only water where the equipment now in use requires chemicals which are
destrr7etive to fire. hose as well as household furniture.. The equipment will cost
between $250. and $300. installed. The Fire Chief stated that the Fire Depart-
ment has $100. it will use toward having this equipment placed. Alderman Gregory
moved that the Fire Committee be authorized to make purchase of a "Booster Pump"
equipment at an expenditure of up to $200.00. This motion was seconded by Alder*na
Shook and carried unanimously.
A hill for $20.00 OK'd by Ekw Porter for renairs dki St=aat_. qulpment was presented.
Alderman Sanders moved same be allowed. This motion was seconded by Alderman McAllister
and carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared. I
There being no further business, Alderman McAllister moved to adjourn. This
^otion was seconded by Alderman Peal acid was unanimously passed by the Council.
The Mayor declared the Council adjourned.
