Hardware 42.84: Alderman McAllister moved that the -bills be allowed as approved. The motion was seconded `:y Alderman Bynum, and was unanimously passed. The Mayor declared carried A Committee from Thrift House consisting of s, Messrs F P Pyeatt and R L Nettleshin appeared before the Council# outlining a plan for taking care of Welfare I the needy in Fayetteville tris winter; stating that the Federal Governemen t would Board: match Dollar For Dollar, without cost to the City, any amount put up for this nurrose. There. being no guarantee however, as to how long this proposition will he open from the Governement. A certain propo rtion of Community Chest money has always pone to the Thrift House. The Committee apnea rine, asked that the City Council create and arpoint a "Welfare Board -this rowrd to he endowed with a small amount of money. Whatever amount this maybe together with proportion of amount from Community Chest fund for same purpose will be matched by an equal amount by Federal Governement, The Governement will also furnish workers for distribution of these funds. The "Welfare Board " is to act in a suvertl'isory canacity in the local relief distribution. After some d.1scussion of the subject, Alderman Sanders offered the following resolution.
