Alderman J F Stanford. E M Ratliff 'acted as clerk of the session. After the reading of the minutes,Alderman Senders made a motion that the minutes be corrected to read " action on Municipal League matter be deferred until Dr. K. 0. Warner could appear before the Council and arra explain same". This motion was seconded by Alder. an Shook and received the unanimous vote of the Council. Bills: The following hills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of the Auditing Committee: Magnolia Petrolium Company $49.90: Fayetteiri.11e Machine Shops 50 cents; Rogers Wholsale Grocery(f o. $10.08: Lewis Chevrolet 35 cents: Ozark Grocery Co. $1.57:•K E Erickson Co 615.03; Kelley Bros. Lumber Co. ?10.35: Ben Port. er Q15.00: Homer Milstead 1012.00; Elmer Weir $10.00: A F Shumate $'18.00; Fayettevil' Daily Democrat $10.15. Alderman McAllister moved that the '^ills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw.warrants for the same upon the proper funds. This motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum and carried unanimously, and the Mavor so declared. cut Curr A request from Chas Kilpatrick to cut sidewalk and curb at 1002 West Mar le st. 1patrick. Alderman Bynum made a motion which was seconded by Alderman Gregory that the request be granted subject to the. approval of City Engineer 7 M Ratliff. This motion was carried unanimously. Caddy The request of Mrs D M Moore, Director of Mountain Crafts,for use of Caddy House House: on Old City Golf Course was taken up for consideration. Alderman Sanders made a motion that Mrs Moore he given tre use of the. Caddy House, same to be replaced at the request of the City. This motion was seconded by Alderman Carter and carried unanimously. Nashin#zw ton CO Fa it Municips. League AldPrmon Sanders moved that the Wasbington County Fair Association's request for use of Grader be granted s.)biect to epDrovAlo.f the Street Committee. This motion wqs seconded 'i.r !11dernan Shook and was duly pasaed by the Council. The applications of W C Smith and FJ E Burnett were read. Alderman Gregory moved that 5kune be received and filed. This motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum. The moti.c carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared. At this time dr. K. 0. Vlarner of the University of Arkansas and Directo^ of ' Arkgnsns Municipal League appeared before the Council and explained the Arkansas Municipal League P, E Wapes Alderman Carter moved that the Council go into executive session for the purrose rrointedof considering applications for the position of combined Bullding,pElectreal, Gas Rldg Ing_ and Plumbing Inspector. This motion was seconded by Alderman Peel, and resulted in unanimous vote of all Aldermen present: and the Magor declared the motion carried and the Council'is in executive session. The Council took up the matter of selecting an Inspector to fill the Position made vacant by the resignation of Mr. Be Gary. After consideration of all applications, the Council by majority vote appointed H r ".'ages to the Positions of Building„ Electrical, Plumbing and Gas Inspector, and was so declared by the Mayor. 1+0•gDle at Alderman Gregory moved that the City Engineer he authorized and directed to sidewalk:, advertise for bids for the construction of side -walks on the North Side of Maple Street adjacent to lots six (6) and seven (7) Block five (5) Englewood Addition and lots seven (7) and eight (8) Block one (1) Wilson's First Addition to FayPtte- ville,Ark.ansas, in accordance with the order previously issued to the respective Property owners by the. City of Faye tte."i.11e.. ThP,motion was seconded hy'Alderman Bynum, and resulted in the following vote: Ayes: Aldermen Bynum, Carter, Gregory, McAllister, Peal, Sanders, Shook. Nayes: None. Absent and not voting, Alderman Stanford. The. Mayor declared the motion carried. Alderman Sanders moved that the City Rngineer be instructed to confer with Maple st Property owners on Maple st between College Avenue and Mission street and inform cont'd them that the City will co-operate in the construction of sidewalk on said street to the extent of furnishing F r R A labor for all who voluntarily construct the same; also with the further understanding, that any one,who does not cause their walk to be so constructed and it becomes necessary for the City to order them in, will probably not be able to take r}dvantage'of the. labor benefit. This motion was seconded by Alderman Gregory and resulted in the follo-A ng vote. -.Ayes: Aldermen Bynum, Carter, Gregory, McAllister, Peal, Sanders, Shook. Absent and not voting: Alderman Stanford. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Sidewalk Alderman Sanders moved that the City Attorney he authorized and directed to re-isue Oakland the order for the construction of sidewalk adjacent to lots three (3) ten (10) and eleven (11) of H C Evans Sub -division of partsof Block three (3) and Four(4) Oak - Place ad land Place Addition to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas., and give. them thirty (30) deys from September 10th,1934 in V.hich to construct daid walk. This motion wns seconded by Alderrran Gregory ,and resulted in'the following vote. Ayes :Aldermen Bynum, Carter,Gregory, McAllister, Peal, Sanders, Shook. Absent and not voting Alderman Stanford.
