Council meeting August 20th,1934, continued)
Oakland A petition from the Arkansas Pi Beta Phi House Association to the Fayetteville
Avenue City Council, asking that a sidewalk be ordered laid on Oakland Ave., on
Sidewalk* adjacent lots 3,10, 11 of H C .Evans' subdivision of Blocks 3 and 4 of Oakland
Place Addition was read. Alderman Sanders made a motion that said sidewalk be
ordered in and that the City Attorney be directed to issue the necessary notices
and orders and have the same served. This motion was seconded by Alderman
McAllister. On the Clerk's calling theroll,the following vote resulted: Ayes:
Aldermen Bynum, Gregory, McAllister, Peal Sanders, and Shook. Nayes: None. Absent
and not voting Aldermen Stanford and Carter. The Mayor declared the motion carried
The Mayor reported a Municival League meeting to be held in Fort Smith on
August 21,1934, at 2:30 P M. and urged that Council members attend.
There being no further businees,a motion to adjourn was made by Alderman
Peal which was seconded by Alderman McAllister and duly passed by the Council.
The Mayor declared the Council adjourned.

Fayetteville City Council met in regular session September 'ird,1934.
Present: MayorTribble,City Rtty., R.ex Perkins, City £np,ineer F MRatliff, Aldermen:Bynum,
Carter, Grepory, McAllister, Peal, Sanders, and Shook. Chief of Police Neal Cruse,
Chief of Fire Department Clyde Walters. Absent: City Clerk Otoe Phillins and
Alderman J F Stanford. City Attorney Rex Perkins acting as Clerk of the session.
Bills! The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman
of the Auditing Committee; Southwest Bell Telephone Co. $34.25; Fayetteville Printing
Company $1.70; Homer Milstead $9.00; Bob Hannah $1.00; Heerwagen Bros. $2.40; Thomas
& Son '$9.00; Ed Poor 50 cents; A F Shumate 836.00; Ben Porter $30.00: R C Gulley $R4.0
J t^1 Shelley $9.50; I 0 Miller $7.50. Alderman Carter made a motion which was
seconded by Alderman Shook that the hills be. allowed as approved and the Clerk be
instructed to draw warrants for the same upon the Proper funds. This motion received
i the entire vote of the. Council present and the Mayor declared carried.
A letter of appreciation..from Fsyetteville Associated Relief,J J Pyeatt Treas., for
offering "Caddy House" forThrift House service was read.
Mrs Moor.- A request from Mrs. D. M.Moore, Director of Ozark Mountain Crafts, asking the use of
�Ttn Craft : the Caddy house on the old City Golf Course for use with the Mountain Crafts, was
presented. Alderman Gregory made a motion which was seconded by Alderman McAllister
that the request be filed for further consideration. This motion was duly passed
by the Council and the Mayor so declared.

terms of membership in same was presented. A motion was made by Alderman McAllister

Chi Omega Mr. G. C. Wade, Mrs Ashton Vincenheller, F P Pyeatt and i7 J Re-rnolds appeared before
the Council in behalf of Chi Omega sorority, asking re -consideration of order to lay
sidewalk as described. No action was taken.
Fair Mr. Karl Gre.inhaw appeared in behalf of Washington County Fair Ass n, asking the
S.rounds City to furnish gravel to � d sidewalks on Fair Grounds property, stating that the
idwalk work would require 600 cu 9t of gravel, and asking use of truck for assisting In
work on grounds. A motion I'll made by Alde nnan Gregory and seconded by Alderman
Sanders that this help he given at a cost not to exceed $$36.00. The motion carried b
a•unanimous vote, and the Mayor declared carried.
The resignation of r Gary as City Insrector was read. A motion was made by Alderman
Sanders and seconded by Alderman Gregory that. Mr Gary's resignation be accepted. Th
motion carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared. The following filed applies-
ti.on for the place madevacant by resignation of Mr Gary: Ptd Fishhack,R F 1^'ages,Lewi
Davidson, Oliver Lollar and J B Hutchinson. A motion that these applications be
filed for consideration at'the meeting of SePtember 10th, was made by Alderman
Gregory and seconded by Alderman Carter. This motion received the entire vote of
the membe-s Present.
A motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Peal and seconded by Alderman Sanders. Th
motion was duly passed by the Council and the Mayor declared `.be session adjourned.
