HomeMy WebLinkAbout1934-08-06 Minutes134 Fayetteville City Council met in regular session August 6th,1934: Present: Mayor Tribble, City Clerk Otoe-Phillips' City Attorney Rex Perkkins, City Engineer F M Ratliff, Chief of Police"Neal Cruse; -Chief of Fire Department Clyde Welters. Aldermen:,,Bvnum, Carter, Gregory, McAllister, Peal, Shook, Sanders, and Stanford. Minutes of thelast meeting postponed from Monday until Tuesday night July 31st, were read and approved. Bills: Thefollowing tiills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peel, Chairman of the Auditing Committee.- Southwest Bell Telpehone Co.,$35. 80; J P1 Shelley $9.500, Harley Gover Sheriff $26.00.5en Porter y15.00;oFayettnville Lumber,& Cement Co.$4,p2; Bossmeper-BcBride $ 2.10;Bossmeyer-McBride $1.20;T.homas 6:'Son$6.25; Mrs Alice Hulsey 75 cents:A.bshier-Bryan Co .,$12.83; Harry'r, Hamilton$7.10:Hee,rvlaae:i.Bros.l'p2:14; Walter Duggans p1.75; A F Shumate'$18.00; Bossmpyer-McBride Co. $9.21; Magnolia Petrolium 677.33: Alderman Bynum moved'that the bills be allowed as.approved andthe Clerk be instructed to draw warrants .for the same upon the proper funds. This motion was seconded by Alderman Gregory and received the unanimous vote of the Council. Fffa Request of Mrs Fffa Pennock for appointment of An appraiser for property damage Pennock was presented. After Poing into the matter thorouphly,-it was brought out that Appraiser the damage claimed was one of many whioh occurred during the storm of June 10th, Asked: when many streets were l'oodedand much property inside and outside the City was damapedby rain, hail and :wind. Alderman Sanders moved that the City Council re- fuse -to appoint an assessor to act in this capacity. Alderman Gregory seconded same, and received the entire vote of the Council. Claim f9r In the matter of Farl Hand'sr6gibest for payment of Gas and Oil. Alderman Bynum Gas & 011,- moved and Alderman Stanford seepnded same that claim not be allowed. F. Hand . C.A.Rrown A request from C A Brown, Jr., to cut sidewalk and curb at entrance of alley Cut Cur immediately west of 403 West Spring st was read. Alderman Sanders moved that etc.: same be granted, work to be. done under surpervisioh of City Fnlineer F M Ratliff. Motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum and carried unanimously. There being no .further business, Alderman Sanders made a motion which was seconded by Alde Man Peal thatthe Council adjourn: The motion was passed unanimously and the Mayor declared the Council ad,iourned.
