Chief of Police Neal Cruse, Fi.reChief Clyde 11.alters, City Engineer "E M Ratliff and City Attorney Rex Perkins. Absent: Alderman Gregory and City Clerk Otoe Phillips. City Attorney Rex Perkins actin s clerk of the session. Minutes ofthe meeting of July 23rd, were read and approved. Bills: The following, hills were approved by the auditing Committee, Alderman Peal,Chairman, and upon motion made by Alderipan Bynum and seconded by Alderman McAllister, which motion carried unanimously; the Clerk was ordered to issue warrants covering same,- i.lated below- Effa I A-claim:.for damages amounting,.to $1000. said damage claimed to be due to the grading Pennock' or to changing the grade of the streets and alleys adjacent to said claimants property Claim for was read. The council refused to consider the claim. Damage: Cole 50 cents; J C IVaits $$2.50; Harve Ward 02.501 A F Shumate $18.00; Ben Porter I�IEldo 15.00; V! L Illeeker $$64.00 Condemn -1 106 Sout A petition to have the house 106 Sough Duncan st., condemned on account of sanitary Duncan: conditions was read. Alderman Peal madeN motion which was seconded by Alderman Bynum that this matter be referred to the Qity Hedlth Officer. The severn Aldermen present voted in the affirmative and the Mayor declared the motion carried. Imp Dist Reports: Reports of the follmving Improvement Districts were read: Sewer Improvement Distict No.l and Annex #1 to Sewer Improvement Dist #19 as of date June30,1934. Alderman Sanders made motion which was seconded by Alderman Carter that the reports be received and filed. Report of C F•Armistead; Receiver for North Leverett Improvement District No.l for the year ending July 2n,1934 was read. Motion was made by Alderman Sanders and seconded by Alderman Carter that the, report be received and filed. The seven Aldermen present voted in the affirmative and the Mayor declared the motion carried. Earl Han :The Council heard a petition from Earl hand, Motor Cycle police, to have the City pay his F.otor Cycle rias bill each month in additionto his salary. A motion was made by Alderman McAllister and seconded ry Alderman I'eal that the matter be deferred to next Council meeting. Six councilmen voted inthe affirmative and the Mayor declared the motion ca^rigid. Cut Curb:Oliver�011ar asked permission to cut the curb on Meadow street. -A motion was made by Alder"mn.Sanders and seconded by Alderman Peal that same be granted: work tobe done under supervision of City .Engineer, E V Ratliff. Six Councilmen voted in the af'irma- tive and the Mayor declared carried. Herman Tuck asked permission nto pave strip between pavement and drivewayat Camphe.11's Grocery 229 South School st., A motionthat request be granted was made_ by Alderman Sanders and seconded by Alderman Carter, paving, to he done under the supervision of Citr 7ngineer E M Ratliff. Six Councilmen voted in the affirmative and the Mayor declared carried. There being no further business, a motion for ad,iournement was made by Alderman Carter and seconded by Alderman McAllister.
