Present: Mayor T S Tribble, (City Clerk nroP Ph- hips, City Attorney Rex Perkins, City Engineer E'M Ratliff, Chief Police Neal Cruse, Alderman Bynum, Carter, McAllister, Peal, Sanders, Shook, Stanford. Absent Alderman Gregory.d-( latcovk�( Minutes of the regular meeting held'April 30th were read an approved, V� Bills The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of the auditing committee; Arkansas Western Gas Co. ,$2.59, Goss Rogers 50.1 S V: Bell Telephone Co. $37.54, A F Shumate 14.25, Harley Gover x;28.00 Fayetteville "aily Democrat.027.30 Ben Porter w$15.00, Magnolia Pet Co. x'79.20, H V1 Reeve x$1.50, Abshier 3ryan $69.39, Lewis Bro. 14.55, E A Martin Machine Co. $3.94 Heerwagen Bro. 9$2.780 A F Shumate 818.00, Kelly Bro x$38.58, Auto Motive Co $1,65, Salsbury Gen Shop $1.50, Lewis Bro 9$6.22, Continental Oil Co. 9$25.75, Edmond Vlages J19.72, Mrs. V1 R Lighton 06.00.Alderman Bynum moved that the bills be allowed as approved and that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for the same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Carter and was carried unanimously. The investigations of the "irport Committee w88n carried over until the next meeting of the Council. The City Council authorized the Clerk to pay to Mrs. Lighton the sum of 9;6.00 this month, and five dollars monthly there after for the Arkansas Avenue work. Mr:,Jeffries appeared before the Council concerning a Marble game. Alderman McAllister made a motion seconded by Alderman Stanford that the City Attorney draw up an ordinance concerning this and designating the license fees to he collected. The motion carried unanimously. Adj ournec No further business %Aderman Sanders made the motion that the Council adjourn, the motion was seconded by Alderman Stanford and received the entire vote of the Council. Bills The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of the auditing committee; Bohe Gro, 9;1.33, Bill britt $,2.50, F M Ratliff $2.50, r M Ratliff $9.50, Ben Porter $x15.00, A F Shumate $18.00, Ed Poore $1.75.Alderman Gregory moved that the bills be allowed as approved and that the �01.erk be instructed to draw warrants upon the same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum and carried unanimously. Airport Letters from F M tiatliff, City Engineer and Charles Taylor State Rirport Advisor project ware read before the Council concerning the Air port proiect. Alderman Gregory made the motion that these be refered to the Mayor and City tYlginee.r to handle as best as they see fit. The motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum and was carried unanimously. The emergency clause carried unaimously. An ordinance was intndduced relative to license fees on slot machines. The Clerk Slot read the ordinance the first time in its entirety. Alderman Bynum moved that the Machine rules he suspended and the ordinance he placed o" its second readirig, "lderman Ord, Heal seconded the motion which recieved the entire vote of the Council. The Clerk then read the ordinance the second time. The ordinance was left on its second reading., Ord Alderman Stanford intrcpduced an.lordinance entitled "An ordinance to Provide for an N Street Extension of North St. "ayetteville, Arkansas, as a Public ''treet across'the Hight RRCrossi g of flay and tracks of the St. Louis San Francisco Railway at Grade: to declare such Grade Crossing Hazardous and to require motor vehicle drivers to Stop, look and listen before crossing same: to declare and �mergency and for all other related purposes." The ordinance was read the first'time in its entirety by the "lerk. Alderman Bynum moved that the rules be suspended and the ordinance be placed on its second reading. Alderman Peal seconded the motion which was carried unanimously by the Council. And the Clerk read the ordinance the second time, Alderman Peal made the motion that the rules be futher suspended and the ordinance he placed on Its third and final reading. Alderman Stanford seconded the motion which was carried unanimously, The Clerk read the ordinance the third and final time. The 1,1a vor put the question "Shall the ordinance pass." On the Clerks calling the roll the following vote resulted Aves Bynum, Gregory, McAllister, Peal, Shook, Stanford. Absent and not voting. Alderman Carter and Sanders. The Mayor declared the ordinance passed as there was 6 Aves and no Nava. The emergency clause carried unaimously.
