Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday April 23rd, 1934
Present: Alderman Bynum, Carter, Gregory, McAllister, Peal, Shook, and Stanford, City Clerk
Otoe Phillips, City'Engineer E M.Ratliff, Chief Police Neal Cruse. Absent
Mayor T S Tribble, and Alderman Sanders.
The meetinP. Balled to order by Alderman Stanford. Alderman garter made a motion
seconded by Alderman Gregory that Alderman Stanford he elected Mayor nrotem. Upon the
motion being put by "lderman Carter'all present and voting voted ror the motion and
Alderman Stanford was elected Mayor Pro -tem.
Minutes of the meeting held April'16th were read a kaonroved,
Bills The following hills were presented after their approval by "lderman Peal, `'hairman
of the "editing Committee: S W Gas and 'Plec Co. $,314.10, Joe -taker x,,1.00,
Ben Porter $130.00, Gene Ylehb $14.00, Earl Stewart '$18.25, Henry Vaughn $ 5.25 Oliver
Murray ?11.509 A F Shumate $136.00. Alderman Gregory moved that the hills be allowed
as approved and that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for the same upon
the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman McAllister and duly passed
by the Council.
A L Eastep asked permission of the Council to Construct a culvert and Driveway over
Rutter at his Grocery Store on best Mountain. Alderman Bynum made the motion that the
same be allowed under the supervision of the City engineer Alderman Carter seconded
the motion which wlas duly passed by the Council.

Reports The following, reports for the month of March were read in their entirety by the Clerk:
for T. S. Tribble as Burebasinp, Agent, Otoe Phillip. as City Collector, and as City Clerk,
March Clem Pearson as Police Judge, and Neal Cruse as `'hief of Police. By motion of
Alderman Bynum seconded by Alderman Peal and duly passed by the Council, the reports
were received and filed.
Alderman Peal -Introduced an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance granting to J. VI. Shelley
Garbaae a Citizen of Favetteville, Arkansas ., Hefrs, legal representatives, successors or
Ordinanc assigns the right and nriveleaes to operate all the necessary equipments and other
appliances, over the streets, avenues, allies and public grounds of the City of
Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the Purpose of removing all garbage from the City Limits,
of 1''ayettevi.11e. Arkansas. r'ixingand defining the terms and conditions of the said
grant. The Clerk read the ordinance the first time in its entirety. Alderman Bynum
moved that the rules he. suspended •ird the ordinance be placed on tis second reading.
Alderman "arter "eco nded the motion which received the entire vote of the "ouncil.
The Clerk read the Ordinance the second time. The ordinance was left on its
second reading.
Vie Mayor Pro-tPm called the Council'S attention to the fact that there had been an
offer to buy the old airport from the Git•y. "lderman McAllister made a motion that
the Finance "ommittee'investigate the possibilties of cutting up the old airport into
tracts for sale. Alderman 'jarter seconded the motion which was duly passed by the
Council.
No further business Alderman Gregory made the motion that the Council adjourn, the
motion was seconded by °lderman Bynum and recieved the entire vote of the. council.

Minutes of the regular meeting held Rpril 23rd were read and approved.
The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of
the auditing committee: First National Bank 860.00, T § Tribble, $10.00,
W E Gregg $530.00 Ben Porter $15.00, Albert Dearing $19.20, Mrs W R Lighton 9.00
Montgomery Ward j14.50, A F Shumate $518.00, S A. Tlaps 05.90, Abshier Bryan 88.07
Overhead Door Co. $45,91, J A Bookout $5.40, Earl Stewart $13.00, Eugene Webb $,3.00
Clyde Hight $13.12. Alderman Bvnum moved that the bills he allowed as approved and,
that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for the same upon the proper funds.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Carter and carried unanimously.
The minanee Committee investigation of the possibilities of cutting up the old airport
into tracts for sale,was carried over.
The garbage ordinance was brought up and read the third and final time by the
e Clrk.
The Mayor then put the question '.Shall the ordinance pass' On the Clerk's calling, the
roll the following vote resulted; Ayes Bynum, Carter, Gregory, McAllister, Peal,
Sanders, Shook, Stanford. The Mayor declared the ordinance passed as there were
8 Ayes and no Nays.
