Present: Mayor T. S. Tribble, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Virgil Ramsey, City
Engineer Be M. Ratliff, Chief Police Neal Cruse, Alderman Bynum, Carter, Gregroy,
Herding, Peal, Stanford, Wages. -Absent Sanders.
Minutes of the regular meeting held February 26, 1934, were read an approved.

Bills The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman

Alderman Bynum moved that the bills be allow6d as approved and the Clerk be
instructed to draw warrants for the same upon the proper funds. The motion was
seconded by Alderman Harding and duly passed by the Council.
Anplicat onAnplication for permission to cut the curb by A. A. Tucker at Jfhis redidence
to cut Lot 5 Block 2 Original town and 41. A. Cain 328 Highland was asked The motion
Curb made by pregory that this be granted the same under the Supervision of the City
",ngineer Alderman Harding seconded the motion and was duly passed by the Council.
Purchase The matter of purchasing an Over Head door for the Fire Station was brought before
of the Council. Alderman Wages presented a letter from*.bhe Over Head Door Loo. of Tulsa
Over head Oklahoma, making a price of $206.61 for door to be paid one-third down and balance
Door in three monthly payments. Alderman Bynum made the motion that this he accepted
seconded by Alderman Harding which was carried unanimously by the Council.

Alderman Peal, Introduced an Ordinance entitled " An Ordinance granting to J. W. Sheliy.
Garbage a citizen of F:vetteville, Arkansas. Heirs, legal representives, sucessors or assigns
Ord. the right and priveleges to operate all the necessary equipments and other
appliances over the streets, avenues, allies and public grounds of the City of
Flayetteville, Arkansas for the purpose of removing all garbage from the city limits
of Fayettev-ille, Arkansas: Fixing and defining the terms and condidions of said grant
The Clerk read the Ordinance the first time in its entirety. Alderman Bynum moved
that the rules be suspendedand the ordinance he placed on its second reading. The
motion was seconded by Alderman Wages and received the entire vobe of the Council.
The Clerk then read the Ordinance the Sea6nd time. The Ordinance was left on its
second reading.
Mayor Tribble requestedthat the Council transfer $1200.00 from the Street fund to
the "ire fund to pay an old existing debt for Fire hose for the Fire Denartrent.
The following was nut in f0m of a motion by Carter and Seconded by Alderman
Stanford, and received the entire cote of the Council.
7\'o further bvAiness Alderman Wages made the motion that the Council adjourn,
the motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum and received the entire vote of the
Council. The Mayor declared the Council adjourned.

Permission was asked by the Quaker Drug Store and Montgomery Ward and Co
electric for installing electric signs. By motion of Alderman Sanders rseconded by Alderman

the supervision of the City inspector.

Garbage Alderman U,rages moved that the garbage desposal ordinance be referred the ordinance
Ord* committee and that a new ordinance be drafted the motion was seconded by Alderman
Sanders and carried unanimously.

Alderman Sanders moved that the milk test received from the Bacteriologist be
received and filed. Alderman Bynum seconded this.motion which was carried

Hr. Asberry presented the Council with a schedule of oOE onal^rates. Alderman
Stanford moved that this schedule be refered to the Light committee and the
City Attorney for the next meeting, the motion was seconded by Alderman Peal qnd
received the entire vote of the Council.

A.0 Ucker and Mr and Mrs. Walter Pettigrew appeared iefbre*.the Council remonstrating
AgA3nst publishing, the bacterial milk count, basing there obiections of the fact
that the milk samples were warm. After discussion Alderman Gregory moved that
Section number seven of Ordinance No 762 be amended to read that all bacterial tests
be published, this to be presented as an ordinance at the next regular meeting.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stanford. .On the Clerks calling the roll the following
vote resulted. Ayes Bynum, Carter, Gregory, Harding, Peal and Stanford. Nayes
Sanders and NJagPs. Mayor declared the motion carred as there was 6 ayws and 2 nays.
Alderman Stanford made a motion that the $20.00 per month allowed the Thrift House
on February 26th be rescinded. Alderman Bynum seconded the motion. On the question
before the Council the Following vote resulted. Ayes Bynum, Stanford. Nays Carter,
oregory, Peal, Sanders, and V'lages.
A motion to Adjourn made by Alderman Sanders, and Seconded by Alderman Peal and

Troy Stockburger $2 .50. Alderman Bynum moved that the bills allowed as approved
and that the `'lerk•be instructed to draw warrants for the same upon the proper funds.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and was carried unanimously.
Alderman Gr gory introduced andordinance entitled an Ordinance to amend SecA Seven
of ordinance Number 762 of the. Ordinances of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
and for other purposes" The ordinance was;read the first time in its entirety by tb.e
Clerk. Alderman Harding made the motion seconded by Alderman Peal that the rules be
suspended and that the oridinance be Placed on its eecondereading. Upon the question
being put before the Council it received the unanimous vote and the Clerk read the
ordinance the second time. Alderman Bynum made a motion that the rules be further su
speeded and the ordinance he placed on its third and final reading. Alderman
Harding seconders the motion which recieved the entire vote of the Council. The
Clerk then read the Ordinance the third an final time. The Mayor Put the question
'Shallthe Ordinance pass." On the Clerk's calligg the roll the following, vote
resulted. Ayes Alderman Bynum, Csrter, Gregory, Harding, Peal, Sanders , 6tanford,
and Wages. Nays None. "bsent an not voting none. The Mayor declared the ordinance
passed as there were 8 Aires and no nays.
Ordinance Number 769.
An Ordinance to be entitled, "An ordinance to amend snetion Seven of Ordinance
Number 762 of the Ordinances of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and for other'pur•
poses"
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas:
Section One. That section seven (7) of Ordinance Number 762 of the ordinances of
of the Uity of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be amendedrto read as follows:
Section Seven: That all bacterial test required to be made, by the ordinances of
the, City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, of the milk of all dairymen selling milk to he
consumed by citizens of said City, shall be published in some newspaper published
in said city; and a copy of all such tests shall be. furnished the City Council. .
Section two: Thnt this ordinance being necessary for the immediate protection t5 the
public peace., health and safety, an emergency is hereby decalred to exist, and this
ordinance shall take effect and be in force from, and after its Passage, and approval
and Publication.
