Dowell relative to condemning Property belonging to him frn the extension of Wall Street reported as follows; That the High- way denartment is to move the buildings and the City is to pay Mr. Powell $50.00 for right-of-way across the property. Alderman Sanders made a motion that the report be. accepted and the Clerk be instructed to pay S. F. Dowell $50.00 when the deed to tb- City for said right-of-way is approved by the City Attorneys Alderman Carter seconded the motion which carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared. Alderman Sanders moved that the Mayor be authorized to go to Little Rock in -the inter- est of CWA projects to come up. The motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and re- ceived the entire vote of the Council. 9• A motion to adjourn made by Alderman Peal; seconded by Alderman Gregory, was duly Passed by the Council and the Mayor declai� d the Council adjourned Attest; Approved; City e ayor. Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday February 26� 1934. Mayor T. S, Tribble, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Virgil Ramsey, City Rrigineer E. M. Ratliff, Chief Police Neal Cruse, Alderman Bynum, Carter, Harding, Peal, Stanford and adages. Absent. Alderman Sanders and Gregory. Vinutes of the regular meeting of February 19, 1934 were read an approved. The following bills were presented after their approval by tilderman Peal, Chairman of the Auditing committee; Republic Printing Co. $16.75, Western Union $0.45 R. C. Framblers & Co. $125.00, F. H. Comer $48.00, Ben Porter 1+15.00, W. W. Parsley $8.40, J. H.Bookout $11.10, Dyke Lbr. "o. $14.402 A.:; Shumate $18.00, Larkin Mfg. Co. $18.00, V. Ro Gregg $4.46:, J 17, Chandler ask Permission of the Council for erection of a sign for -the Chandler Realty Co. no action was taken. Alderman Carter moved that a sum of $20.00 Per month be paid the Thrift House for a Period of six months ��lrierman Peal seconded the motion which was carried unamiously. City Engineer, F M. Ratliff stated that he had consulted with Mr. Rhyne on the 'School Street paving, from Prairie to Mountain St. Alderman Stanford made the motion that the entire present Washington County apnropriatibh for pavement in the Cite be spent on School Street, making the street 3Oft.in width with curling for the entire distance and that the City rngineer, write Mr. Rhyne to that effect. The Motion was seconded by Alderman Harding, find received the unami6us vote of the Council. The 1933 Audit was presented by PC Framblers, Alderman Bvnum moved that the audit be accepted, the motion was seconded by Alderman Harding. Alderman Harding made the motion that the amount of $125.00 be paid Framblers the motion was seconded by Alderman Peal and duly passed by the Council. A motion to adjourn made by Alderman Bynum, and seconded by Alderman Harding was duly nassed by the Council and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned. Attest* . z G city uier Approved Mayor. Tri'ihle called the Council together March 2nd, 1934, .for the purpose consddering the annexation of the Government VeteransHospital Site to the City of Favetteville. Present Mayor �. Alderman Wages introduced an ordinance entitled "An ordinance to refer to a vote of the qualified electors of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the next general election to he held in the said city on the third day of April, 1.934, in the various wards, the question of the annexation of the territory composing the site of the government.- Veterans overnment:Veterans Hospital to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and for othe Purr�o'ses. The Clerk read the ordinance the first time in its entirety. Alder maty(`move. that the rules tie 'Suspended and the ordinance be placed on its second reading. The motion was seconded by Alderman Peal and received the entire vote of the Council. The Clerk then read thee ordinance the second time. Alderman Bynum moved that thrules be futber suspended.and that the ordinance be Placed on its third or final reading. This motion was seconded by Alderman Stanford and received the unanimous vote of the Council. The Clerk then read the Ordinance the third and final time. The Mayor pilt the question "Shall the ordinance pass". On the Clerk's calling the roll the following vote resulted; Ayes Bynum, Carter, Harding, Peal Stanford and Wages. Nays, None, absent and not voting two. The Mayor declared the ordinance passed as there was 6 ayes and no nays.
