Fayetteville City Co•.mcil met in regular session Monday, February 12, 1934.
Present: Mayor T. S. Tribble, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Virgil Ramsey, City En-
gineer E. M. Ratliff, Aldermen Bynum, Carter, Gregory, Harding, Peal, Sanders, Stan-
ford, and wages.
Minutes of the regular meeting held February 5th, 1934, were read and approved.
Bills: The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of
the Auditing Committee; Harley Cover, Sheriff, $94.00, Abshier-Bryan $75.64, Allen
Strain $2.50, Ren Porter $15.00, Magnolia Pet. Co. $72.45, E. M. Ratliff $4.00, A. F.
Shumate $18.00, The Automotive Co. $13.48, B. L. King $25.00, Lewis Chevrolet Co.$0.60,
Carrington Oil Co. $6.65, Ozark Tire & Battery Co. $3.52. Alderman Harding moved that
the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed td draw warrants for same
upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum and received the
unanimous vote of the Council.
Audit: R. C. Frambers & Co. submitted a bid of $250.00 for auditing the books of the City
Clerk for the years 1933 and 1934, or $125#00 payable for each years audit. Alderman
Harding made a motion seconded by Alderman Sanders that the proposal be accepted. On
the question being put before the Council the following vote resulted: Ayes: Bynum,
Carter, Harding, Peal, Sanders, Stanford, and wages. Nays: Gregory. The Mayor declared
the motion carried as there were 7 Ayes and 1 Nap.
The report of Dr. J. F. Stanford, Veterinarian., for the month of January was read by
the Clerk. By motion of Alderman Carter, seconded by Alderman Wages, and duly passed
by the Council, the report was ordered received and filed.
!Budget: The Budget for the year 1934 was presented by the Finance Committee. After discussion
Alderman Sanders made a motion that the matter be carried over till next regular
meeting of the Council February 19th, 1934. Alderman Bynum seconded the motion. On the
question being put before the Council the following vote resulted: Ayes; Bynum, Carter,
Gregory, Harding, Peal, Sanders, Stanford. Nays: wages. The Mayor declared the motion
carried as there were 7 Ayes and 1 Nor.
Mayor Tribble called the attention of the Council to the fact that it is necessary to
secure right-of-way extending Wall Street from Government Ave. to South School Strebt
to avoid possibility of losing Federal Allotment for paving Highway No. 62. After
discussion Alderman Sanders moved that the City Attorney be instructed to draw up an
ordinance relative to the above, authorizing proper authorities to institute condemna-
tion proceedings to secure necessary right-of-way. Alderman Harding seconded the mo-
tion which carried unanimously and the Mayor so declared.

Alderman Harding moved that the Council adjourn till Wednesday, February 14th, ,1934,
when the Council shall meet for the purpose of considering the proposed ordinance for
opening Wall Street from Government Ave. to South School Street. Alderman Carter sec-
onded the motion which was duly passed by the Council and the Mayor declared the
Council ad,ioud till February 14th, 1934.

Adjourned meeting of the City Council cf Fayetteville, Arkansas, held Wednesday,
February 14, 1934.
Present: Mayor T. S. Tribble, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Virgil Ramsey, Aldermen
Bynum, Carter, Gregory, Harding, Peal, Sanders, Stanford, and Wages.
Alderman J. F. Stanford introduced an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to authorize
and direct the City Attorney to institute and maintain proceedings of eminent domain
on behalf of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the purpose of condemning private
property for public use as a street extending Wall Street Fast from Government Avenue
to South School Stroet, in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and for other nurposes"
The Clerk read the ordinance the first time in its entirety. Alderman Harding moved
that the rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. The motion
was seconded by Alderman Peal and received the entire voteof the Council. The Clerk
then read the ordinance the second time. Alderman Wages moved that the rules In. furthe
suspended and the ordinance placed on its third and final reading_. This motion was sec
onded by Alderman Gregory and received the unanimous vote cf the Council. The Clerk
then read the ordinance the third and final time. The Mayor put the question "Shall
the ordinance pass". On the Clerk's calling, the roll the .following vote resulted; Ayes
Bynum, Carter, Gregory, Harding, Peal, Sanders, Stanford, Wages. Nays: None. The Mayor
declared the Ordinance passed as there were 8 Ayes and no Nays.

An Ordinance to be entitled "An ordinance to authorize and direct the City A4�orney
to institute and maintain proceedings of eminent domain on behalf the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkansas, for the purpose of condemning private property for public use as a
street extending Wall Street East from Government Avenue to South School Street, in
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and for other purposes".
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Favetteville, Arkansas;
Section One: The City Attorney of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, is hereby auth-
drized and directed to file legal proceedings under the statutes of eminent domain in
the courts of the State of Arkansas on behalf the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and
to take all necessary action for the accomplishment of the purpose of condemning the
real-estate hereinafter described, for public use as a street, extending Wall Street
Rast from Government Avenue to South School Street, situated in the City of Fayette-
ville, Washington County, Arkansas, as follows, to -wit;
