According, to Clerk's report the Bond Act lacked $3400.00 needed to care for interest
due Feb 1st. By motion of Alderman Wages, seconded by Alderman Carter, passed '
by the Council the Mayor was delegated to investigate borrowing this amount.
By motion Alderman Wages, Seconded Alderman Stanford the City Attorney was
instructed to wire Washington County Legislatorsaon behalf of.the City to vote for
the original Refurding.Bill as first drafted.

Fire The need for additional hose for the Fire Department was brought to the
Hose attention of the Council. Alderman Harding made a motion seconded by'A3derman Peal
that the City Attorney draw up an ordinance for purchase of 1200 .feet of hose
and have the Board of Public Affairs to authorise such a purchase. The motion
was carried unamiously.
The Mayor Called the Council's attention to the condition of child in destitute
circtmstances stating that an operation was imperative. Doctors saving that they
would operate free of charge, if hospital expenses be paid. Alderman Harding
moved that the City pay these .fees, Alderman Carter seconded the motion. The
moti.on receiving the entire vote of the Council.
A motion to adjourn made by Alderman Harding and seconded by Alderman Bynum
was duly passed by the Council and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned.

gineer F. M. Ratliff, Alderman Bynum, Barter, Harding, Peal, Stanford, Wages,
Gregory, and Sanders .
Minutes of the regular meeting January, 15th. 19'4.were read an approved.
Bills: The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman
of the Auditing Committee: Ren. Printing, do. $37.50, Frankie Marc. Co., $3.00,
C. 17. Ledford $2.25, Ben Porter $15.00, Allen Strain $310.50, E. M. 1Aurphey $39.00,
A F. Shumate 018.00. Alderman Bynum moved that the bills be allowed as approved and
the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for the same upon the proper funds. The
motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and carried unamiously.
Permission was asked by Majestic Cafe, Armstrong Gro. and Peoples Gafe for
Electric electric sign. By motion of Alderman'Sanders seconded:b7 Alderman Bynum, and duly
Signs. passed by the Council permission was granted, same to be under supervision of the
City Inspector.
Ordirgnce
R Gary presented a letter stating that the City Electric code had not been followed
in the repair work on the City Fire Station. By motion of Alderman ganders, seconded
Gregory that this wiring be put in according to the code. Motion being duly passed
by the Council.
Alderman Stanford introduced an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to Authorize and
Direct the Board of Public Affairs of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to
Purchase Twelve Hundred feet of Fire Hose:' The ordinance was read the first time
in its e.r.ttrety by the Ulerk, Alderman Harding made the motion seconded by Alderman
Carter that the rules be suspended and that;.the ordinance he placed on its second
reading. Upon the question being rut before'the:.Council it received the unamious
vote and the clerk read the ordinance the second time. Alderman Carter made thei
motion that the ordinance be amended, and that the cost be struck out, the motion
seconded by Alderman Peal, and received the entire vote of the Council.
Alderman Sanders moved that the rules he futher suspended and the ordinance he
placed on its third and final reading. The motion was seconded by Alderman
Harding and received the entire vote of the Council. The Clerk then read the
ordinance the third an final time. The Mayor then put the question "Shall the
Ordinance pass." On the Clerk's calling the roll the following vote resulted:
Ayes: Carter, Gregory, Harding, P"..1, Stanford, # lPages,Byrum and Sanders.
Absent and not voting none. The MXyor declared the Ordinance passed as there were
8 Ayes and no Nays.

An Ordinance to be Entitled,"An ordinance to authorize and direct the'Board of Public
affairs of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to purchase twelve hundred feet of
fire hose."
Be it ordained by the City Co:mcil of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas;
Section One. That the board of public affairs be, and they are hereby authorize
and directed to advertise and purchase twelve hundred (1200) feet of two and one
half (2L) inch fire hose for the Fayetteville Fire Department, and to award a contrac
for the purchase of the same.
Section P. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hP'rebv
repealed and this ordinance shall he in full force and effect from its passage,
approval and publication.

receiving the entire vote of the Council.
Dicession of the approuration f or`the audit of the City's books was passed until
the next session, of the Council.
No furtherbusiness Alderman Sanders made a motion that the Council adjourn.
Alderman Peal seconded the motion which carried unaminouskyand the Mayor declared

Requests for the installation of Electric signs at McAllister's store and Rader's
Cafe were presented. By motion of Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Bvnum, and
duly passed by the Council, the requests were granted, same to he under supervision
of the City Inspector.
