An Ordinarce to he entitled "An Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 750 of the Ordi-

Section One: An Ordinance to amerd Ordinance No. 750 of the Ordi.narces of the City of
Favettnvil.l,e, Arkansas, to read as follows, That from and after the passage and aprro-
v.al of this Ordiner_ce, all owners of motor driven vehicles owned an'd/or onerated with-
in the corporrate limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, shall nay an annual.
privilege license tax for the privilef:e cl asing the streets of said City, said licoas
shall begin and expire with the calendar year, and shp.11 he due and payable or. the
1st day of January, 1934, and on the 1st day of January of each year thereafter: Pro-
vided all owners shall be allowed 10 days grace in which to buy license, whether they
be old residents, new residents,.or new owners of motor vehicles, the time shall be
calculated to begin at the time said license would have br.en due had there been no
time allowed.
Section Two: On each Automobile and L"totorcycle owned and/or onerated within the corpo-
rate limits of the City of Fayetteville,.Ar'ansas, used for the sole purnose XM of
pleasure and carrying, nassenrrers, shall pay an annual rrivilef*e license tax of $5.00
per calendar year for the year that said licenses were issued.
Section Three: On each truck owned and/or operated within the City of Fayetteville,
i11kansns, shall rxav an annua•1 nrivileire license tax nt the rate of $ 5.On for each
ton capacity of said truc)c i -e a v ton truck license shall be X5.00; 1 ton truck

Section Four: On each car used for hire as a Taxi shall pay a privilege license tax
for the privilege of using the streets of said Citr in the sum of 625.00 Per annum
for each calendar year.
Section Five: The City Collector shall issue no license plate to any applicant for a
less sum than the, annual license fee for such vehicle: and any person owrinr and/or
oneratinu any motor vehicle described above without haivinr "corinliPd with all t;he nro-
vinions of this Ordinance shall he deemed puilt.y of a misdemeanor and uron conviction
before the Police. Judre shall he fired in any num not less than t:he amount of the li-
cense tax due, nor more than doable the amount of such license, and shall also he re-

the City Ordinances now in force and rr.neals only the Ordinances and parts of Ordi-

Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday, January 1st, 1934.

Bynum, Carter, Gregory, Harding, Peal, Sanders, Stanford, Wages.
B Minutes of the regular meeting held December 26, 1933, were read and approved.
Bills: The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of
the Auditing Committee: Ark. Western Gas Co. $3.47, Bob Day 03.50, Henry Walker, Clerk,
A3.40, Thomas & Son $$7.80, Ben Porter $15.00, A.`F. Shumate 18.00. Alderman Gregory
moved that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warr-
ants for same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and
received the unanimous vote of the Council.
A bill was presented by Homer Elkins for $$8.95 repairs on car injured by running
over a stop sign. After discussion, Alderman Sanders moved that the bill be allowed.
The. motion was lost for want of a second.
No further business Alderman Bynum made a motion that the Council adjourn. Alderman
Carter seconded the motion which carridd unanimously and the Mayor declared the
Council adjourned.
