Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Paonday, December 1.8, 1933.
Present:) Navor T., S. Tri.'"ble, City Clerk O'torl Phillips, City Attorney Virgil Ramsey, Aldermen
Bynum, Carter, Gregory, HardinF, Peal, Sanders, Stanford, Absent: Alderman Wages.
Vinutes of the regular meeting held December 11th, 1933, were read and aPnroved.
The following bills were Presented after their annroval by Alderman Peal, Chairman of
the Auditing Committee; D. A. Burson 420.00, S. W. Gas 8: r;lectric Co. x:;314.10, Cn.RO,
?0.40, pR.221 Bob Day x;7.50, Allen -Strain a?2.00, Ben Porter 15.00, A. F. Shumate $18.0
Alderman Harding moved that the bills he allowed as arinroved and the Clerk he instructs
to draw warrants for same upon the Tnroner funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman B}
num and received the unanimous vote of the Council,

Si-gns; cit, the request of High Life Sales Go. to install two electric signs and the request

according to specifications furnished and under supervision of the City Insnector.
Alderman Bynum asked the Council to order a grade f'or sidewalk established at: the Mrs
*. F. Fllis Property on the corner of Whitham and Douglas Streets, also ---.it the John B
rum Property, 604 Douglas Street, Alderman Harding moved that said grades he ordered
established. Alderman. Grprory seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
Petitions aslcinF the Council to decline to call a special election for the nurnose of
voting* bonds for the building of a City Hall signed by a number of nronerty owners
.were nresented. Alderman Carter moved that the petitions be. received and filed. The
motion was seconded by Alderman Grerory and received the entire vote of the Council,
Aldermar Orregory reported on the progress made in tee opening of the Fast end of Dick-
son Street, stating that a lot may be purchased from the lien naves Fstate and the Joe
Manuel house moved on same, using C':;A labor, for approximately ?200.0n. Alderman Hard-
inrr made n motion that; the report be accepted and that money enourrh be set, aside from
the Street Fund to pay for the lot; and the expense of moving the house. Alderman_ Peal
sec.ondert the motion which passed unanimously and the P.'ayor so declared.
Alderman Harding moved that the Council adjourn till Tuesday, DecP.mher 26th, 19'3,
Alderman Stanford seconded the motion which was duly p -riled by the Council, and the
Favor declared the Counc'1 adjourned till December 26th, 19713.

Alderman e. Harding moved that the bills hallowed as apr,r•oved and the Clerk he instruc-
ted to drzw warrants for same upon the proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alder-
man Carter arca received the unanimous vote of the Council.
The resirr^ation of J. 1 Scott as a member of the Board of Commissioners in Improve-
ment Pis'.rict No. 43 was nresented. By motion: of Alderman Sanders, seconded by Alder-
rian B-rrium,'and duly nassed by tTe Council, the resin -nation was accented.

Aldnr"ar Sanders, secondee) by Alderman Hardirlrr, and duly na ^sed by the Council., the
narlmit; was orarnted, same to be, under supervision of the City inspector,

tute r•ircumstances and unahle to furnish necessary burial ernenses, and stated that the

for the burial of the child, the lot, costing 4;5.00. Alderman Carter mo•.ed that the Citl

Ordinanc.: Alderman, J. F. ,Stanford introduced nn Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to amend Ordi-
rance P?o. 750 of the Ordinances of the Gitv of Fayetteville, Arkansas; To provide the
regulations for assessing and collecting an annual priviler-e license tax on all motor
vehicles owned and/or operated within the corporate limits of the Citv of Fayetteville,
Ark+insris, and for other purposes". The ordinance was read the first time in its entire-
ty by the Clerk. Aldermar Wages made a motion that was seconded by Alderman Gregory
that the rules be suspended and the ordinance be. placed on its second reading,. Uuon the
question beim out before the Council it, received their unanimous vote and the Clerk
read the ordinance the second time. Alderman 1-Tarding moved that the rules he further
suspended and the ordinance placed on its third and final reading;. .The motion was see-
onded ',y Alderman Carter and received the entire vote of the Council. The Clerk then
read the ordinance the third rand final time, the I,-9vor then rut the question "Shall
the Ordinarce. pass". On the Clerk's c!tlling.t.he roll the following vote .resulted;
