Alderman Carter then made the f6llocving motion: that all arrests, charges, and the disposition of all cases he included in the reports of the Police Judge and the (chief of Police, and that said renort he published. The motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and received the entire vote of the Council present.. The Chairman of the Strpn.t Com^littne. and the City FnfinPnr recommended that the. offer of i?. F. Drake to donate a 20 foot strip of land on the East side of Block 6, Enplewoo Adriition, for the wideniriw of Park Avenue, if' the,City would Grade and gravel certain harts of Park Avenue, b� accepted - provided that the wort: he put in a Civil Works Bro iect and he avr1roveri by the Civil V'orks ComTiission, Alderman IIRI'dinp moved that the rPcommnndation be annroved and the Committee be discharged. Peal introduced an ordinance ertitled "An Ordinance Providing for the sunr_ression of radio interference: establishing the office of the City Radio Techni- Ncian, defining his duties and fixinf; his compensation: providing for penalties for violation and for other nurnoses." The Clerk read the ordinance in its entirety the first time, after which Alderman Sanders made a motion seconded by Alderman Stanford that the rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. The mo- tion carried unanimously and the Clerk read the ordinance the second time. After discussion Alderman Sanders moved that the rules be further suspended and the ordi- . nance Placed on its third and final reading. Alderman Gregory seconded the motion which carried unanimously and the Clerk read the ordinance the third and final time, The. I6:avor then nut the quention "Shall the ordinance pass". On the Clerk's calling tt-e roll the following vote resulted; Aves: None. Hays; Bynum, Grerrory, Harding, Peal, Sanders, Stanford, and Vlapes. Absent and not voting; Carter. The Fayor declared the ordinance lost ns there were 7 nays and no ayes. The report of J. F. Stanford, Veterinarian, in compliance vd.th Dairy Ordinance Bio. 762 was read by the Clerk. By motion of Alderman Bynum, seconded by Alderman Wapes, apd duly nassed by the Council, the renort was ordered received and filed. City 7ngineer 7. Tt. Ratliff stated that he. had presented the airport nro,ject to Tirtr. Taylor of the Cl7A who seemed in favor of such Project but could not p;ive definite i.n- forniation till be had received further instructions. Alderman J. K. Grer=,ory made a report to the Council relative to tho openilip of the East end of Dickson Street as follows; That the nrouerty owned by Joe Manuel takes up half of the street and that a lot; can be purchased from the Len Hayes estate and the Yanuril house moved to such location, and that he. would have dr#finite information for the consideration of the Colrncil at the next meeting?. The hatter of the oronosed T.+uniciPal Buildinr-• was hrouFht to the attention of the Council. After much discussion the Mayor requested the Fayetteville Daily to ask the tax -ravers o-• rroperty owners to get in touch with the members of the Council and let their wishes on the subject be known. Alderman Gregory stated that so many GWA Projects on hand makes the work too heavy for one man to handle, and made a motion; that the Havor, the Chairman of the Street Com- mittee, and the City 7rigineer select a man with means of transportation to work for and with the Aiavor in handling, the C'7A projects-- nay to come from CVA or the Street Fund. Alderman Harding seconded the motion which received the. entire vote of the Coun- cil. No further business, Alderman Grer>ory moved that the Colmcil adiourn.
