Tars. "'. R. Lighton anpeared before the Council asking that the City assist in cleaning

$j5.no would be sufficient to take care of the. matter. By motion of Alderman Harding,
seconded by Alderman Peal, and. duly passed by the Council, the, request was granted and
tre Clerk instructed to draw wa.rrant for $5.00 on the Street Fund,
Mayor Tribble called the attention of the Council to the fact that the Flying. Field
Fund and the Aviation Fund are and should he o�n�n Find the same, and asked that the
accounts he combined, in order that a $500.ONT ay he taken care of. Alderman Wages
made a motion seconded by Alderman Bynum tha6the Clerk be instructed to transfer
enough money from the Flying Field Fund to the Aviation Fund to take care of the bond.
The motion carried unaninously and the Mayor so declared.
Alderman 101ages moved that the Council recess, to comp together again on Thursday, Oct.
5th, 19:13, at 7.3nPM for the purpose of passing,' on an ordinance calling for an electi.c
to vote on the nronosed municipal building. Alderman Sanders seconded the motion whi.ch
received the entire vote of the Council, and the Mayor declared the Council recessed
till Oct: 5th, 1933.

Alderman J. F. Stanford introduced an ordinance to be entitled "An Ordinance calling a
src�cial election to be held on the 14th day of November, 1933, at the several rollinv
nlaces in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the purpose of determining, by ballot
whether or not said City shall issue bonds to the sum of f�45,5nn,nn, with which to nur
chase a site and construct a building for a City Hall". The Clerk read the. ordinance
the first time in its entirety. Alderman Harding moved that the rules he suspended and
the ordinance placed on its second reading,. Alderman Peal seconded the motion which
received the entire vote of the Council present. The Clerk then read the ordinance the
second time. After discussion, Alderman Sanders moved that the rules be further sus-
pended and the ordinance placed on its third and final reading. Alderman Bynum seconde
the notion. On the Clerk's calling the roll the following vote resulted: Ayes: Bynum,
Sanders. Nays: Csirt,er, Harding, Peal, Stanford. Absent and not voting: (.rreaory, V/ages.
The Mayor declared the motion lost as there were 2 Ayes and 4 Nays. The ordinance wa.s
left on its second reading.
Alderman Sanders moved that the Council adjourn. Alderman Stanford seconded the motion
which received the ant' e vote of the Council and the Mayor declared the Council as
ad iourred. ^

ceived the unanimous vote of the Council a^d the Mayor so declared.

An opinion Froin the. Attorney (re..ne.'•al's Office (Niven to City Attorney Virgil Ramsey was
read by the Clerk, as follows: that the reforendum petition filed under the provisions
of Act 2.8, 1933, will prevent the Act from taking, effect
A communication from I. 1,. Young of the Frisco Railway relative to the construction of
a walkway on viaduct over the main line at k;anle Street was read to the Council. N,'r•.
Young stated that is soon as the sidewalk construction was started on either side of
this viaduct that the railroad would do their nart, and that he would be in Fayette-
ville soon to confer with the City Officials on this uro,ject..
The Clerk Presented a statement of $68.93 for taxes due on City nronerty in Block 16,
Original Town, in Allev Improvement District No, 40. By motion of Alderman Harding,
seconded by Alderman Stanford, and duly passed by the Council, the Clerk was instruct-
ed to draw a wnrr.int for this amount on the street fund.
