Tribble, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, Cittr Attorney Vi.rcil Ramsey, City Fh- gineer F:`P.1.'Ratliff,'Chief 'of Police Neal Cruse, Aldermen Byrum, *Carter, Gregory, Hardi.n�, Peal, Stanford, and Wages. Absent Alderman Sanders. Mtrites of the regular mertinr held June 26, 1933, wPre read qnd grproved. Bills: The following bills were presented after their anrroval by Alderman Peal., Chairman of the Auditinc Committee: L. Tollett 522.50, Ben Porter 4`4.00, A. F. Shumate 6.1s.00. Alderman Harding, made a motion seno.:de•l by Alderman Carter that the hills he allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw *warrants for same upon the prorer funds. This motion was duly passed by the Council and the Mayor so declared. The Fa•.,etteville Drug Co.'s request to install an electric sign was referred to the Electrical. Inspector. Financial Reports: Financial rerorts of Improvement District No. 33 and North Leverett Improvement Dis- trict No. l were read by the Clerk. By motion of Alderman Gregory, seconded by Alder- man Rynnm, and passed by the Council, the reports were ordered received and filed. The electrical ordinance and the privilege tax ordinance were carried over. The resignation of Jas. Dinwiddie as Building Inspector was presented, statinv that a letter explaining certain matters of interest to the Council would be prepared for necit meeting. Alderman Bynum moved that the matter be deferred until above statement is received. Alderman Gregory seconded the motion which received the entire vote of the Council. Transfer The condition of City Funds was brought up for• informal discussion. Alderman Gregory of made the following motion, which was seconded by Alderman BymIme That the Counci-1 in - Funds: struct the Clerk to transfer 401,000.00 .from the Street Fund to the Fire Fund as a temporary loan, this 4$1,000.00 to be. returned to the Street Fund from the Fire Fund tax collections when settlement is made by the County Tax Collector. UT,on the'questio being put before the Council the following vote resulted: Ayes, Bynum, Cgrter, Greg- ory, Peal, Stanford, and Vlages. Nava, none. Absent and not voting,, Harding and Sander The Mayor declared the motion as carried. A motion to adjourn made by Alderman Bynum and seconded by Alderman Wages was duly passed h.r the Council and the Mayor declared the Council adjourned, p 1 Attest: � Approved: C� � 1D// 4, L �J L� A/ city Meyor. 11 Privilead Tax I Alderman Gregory introduced an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance providing for a gen- Ordinanc eral Occupation or Privilege, license tax in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and for other purnoses." The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk. Alderman Bynum made a motion seconded by Alderman Carter that the rules be suspended and the. Ordinance he placed on its second ^nading. This motion received the unanimous vote of the Council and the Clerk read the Ordinance the second time. After discussion the Ordinance was left on its second reading. A Motion to adjourn made by Alderman Harding and seconded by Alderman Peal was duly nassed by the Council and the Mayor d'ecla.red the Council adjourned. Minutes of the regular meeting held July 3rd, 19331 were read and approved. Alderman By- num made a motion Seco^ded by Alderman Harding that the bids be allowed as approved and the Clerk Re. instructed to draw warrants for same upon the rroner funds. This mo- tion received the entire vote of the Council and the Mayor so declared. Nonthly Reports: The. following, renorts for the Month of June, 1933, were read in their entirety by the Clerk: T.'S. Tribble as Purchasing Agent, Otoe Phillips as City Clerk and as City Collector, Clem Pearson as Police Judge, and ?deal Cruse as Chief of Police. After the readinc off the reports Alderman Harding made a motion that the reports he accepted as read and the Clerk be instructed to file same. This motion was seconded by Alderman Carter and was duly passed by the Council. Resignation of I Jas. Dinwiddie appeared before the Council stating his reasons for resigning, as Dinwiddie: Plunhing Inspector. After discussion Alderman Gregory moved that the resiptnation he accanted. Alderman Carter seconded the motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council.. Aderman Gregory was appointed by the Mavor as a Committee of one to consult with the Cite Fnginee.r ss to the advisability of annointi.ng, some member of his staff of workmen to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Dinwiddie. The proposed Electrical ordinance was carried over.
