Fayetteville City Council r,c-t in regular session Monday, June 1.9th, 19333
Rayor T. S. Tribble being absent on account of illness, Alderman Wages Horde a motion
which was seconded by Alderman Bynum, that Aldel•man J. F. Stanford be, elected Mayor
Pro Tem. This motion was duly passed by the Council and Alderman Stanford was seat-
ed as Mayor Pro Tem,
Present: City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney Virgil'Ramsey, Chief of Police Neal Cruse,
Aldermen Bynum, Carter, Gregory, Harding, Peal, Stanford, and Wages. Absent:
Mayor Tribble and Alderman Sanders.
Ylniites of the regular meeting held June 12th, 1933, were read and approved.
Bills: Tha followings hills were presented after their approval by Al.dermar Peal, Chairman
of the Auditing Committee:'Arkansas Countrvman $12.75, S. F1. Bell Telephone Co.
028,60, 0. E. Gibson $O.35, Fayetteville Lumber & Cement Co. $25.25, A. F. Shumate
418.00, Alderman Harding rade a motion seconded by Alderman Bynum that the bills he
allowed as approved and the Clerk he instructed to draw warrants for same upon the
proper funds. This motion recei-ed the entire vote of the Council.
Ordinaneles: The proposed Electrical ordinance and the privilege tax ordinance were carried over.
Septic
A request by F. P. Pyeatt to install a septic tank at Rock and West Street was Pre -
Tank:
seated. By motion of .Uderman Mages seconded by Alderman Carter, and duly passed by
the Council, the matter was referred to the Board of Health,
C. B. Franke.
A statement of assessments due in South College Avenue Improvement: District No. 1
payment:
and Alley Improvemert District No, 40 for three years each and amounting, to $423.04
was read by the Clerk, this obligation being assumed by XKK action of the Council
November 11th, 1929, as per agreement with C. B. Franke for an alley hIg right-of-
way in Bloc's 29, Original Fayetteville. A motion was made by Alderman Wages that the
Mayor be instructed to carry out the terms of the above avreement entered into on
November 11th, 1929, assessments now amnur.ting to 0423.04. Alderman Harding seconded
the motion which received the entire vote of the Council present.
Reports Reports of the following City Officials for the 1'onth of May were read by the Clerk:
df T. S. Tribble as Pur chasing Agent, Otoe Phillips as Clerk and as Collector, Clem
officials: Pearson as Police Judge, and Neal Cruse as Chief of Police. Alderman Wages moved
that the reports be received and filed. Alderman (Irprory seconded the motion, which
received the unanimous vote of the Council.
City Attorney Ramsey was requested to furnish the Council with a written report as
to the legality of members of the Police Force receiving pay for making arrests,
No further business, Alderman ".ages made a motion that, the Council adjourn. Alder-
man Peal seconded the motion which was duly sassed by the Council. and the Mayor
declared the Council adiourned.

gineer F, M. Ratliff, Chief of Police Ideal Cruse, Aldermen Bynum, Carter, Gregory,
Harding, Peal, Stanford, and Wages. Absent, Alderman Sanders.

Bills: The following; bills were presented after 'heir approval by Alderman Peal Chairman
of the Auditing Committee; S. I'1. Gas & Electric Co. 8314.10, Ben Porter 68.00, Rock
Street Gro. X1.00, A. F. Shumate A18.00. Alderman Hardire made a motion which was
seconded by Alderman Bynum that the hills he allowed as arnrovad and the Clerk be
instructed to draw warrants for same upon the ni^oner fun,9s. This motion was duly

RPTIort o The renort of the City Attorney as to the legality of collecting 1.00 fee from

findinvs showing such procedure to he illegal according, to statute. By motion of
Alderman Wages, seconded by Alderman Harding, and duly_ passed by the Council, the
report was ordered received and filed.
