Bills: The following bills were Presented after their approval by Alderman Farr, Chairman of
the Atrditingr, Committee, whereupon Alderman Harding made a motion that the bills be
allowed as aorlroved and the Clerk he instructed to draw warrants for same upon the
Proper funds. The motion was seconded by Alderman Sanders and received the entire vote

Airport A Proposition to lease the old airport for a golf course was presented to the Council.
Lease: After discussion Alderman Gregory made a motion, which was s0conded by Alderman Wages,
that the balance due on back rentals be collected in full before the matter of making
further disposition of the Airport he considered. This motion received the entire vote
of the Council and the Mayor so declared.
Mayor Trihhle presented a telegram relative to a shipment of fiber for the street
sweeper which had been sent without a signed order and Karl heen turned down. An offer
was made in the telegram to talre 20% discount if the shipment would 1�e accepted. A
motion by Alderman Sanders seconded by Alderman Barr that the proposition he accepted
was passed by the unanimous vote of the Council,

which they shall serve as such commissioners, all in accordance with Act No. 28 of th
Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas for the year 1933." The Ordinan
was road the first tirie in its entirety. Alderman Sanders made a'motion which *as sec
onded by Alderman Bynum that the rules he. suspended and the Ordinance be placed on it
second reading. The motion received the entire vote of the Council and tbe'Clerk read
the Ordinance the second time. Alderman Rynum moved that the rules he further suspen-
ded and the Ordinance be placed on its third and final reading',. The motion -was second
by Alderman Hardingand received the unanimous vote of the Council. The Clerk then re
the Ordinance the third and final time. The Mayor then Put the question "Shall the
Ordinarce Pasn". Upon the Clerk calling the roil. the following vote resulted; Ayes,
Barr, Bynum, Carter; Gregory, Harding, Sanders, Stanford, and Vages. frays, none. ab-
sent and not voting, none. The Mayor declarer, the Ordinance passed Ps there were 8
ayes and no nays.

Whereas the 1933 General Assembly of the State of Arkansas has by Act No.2R
created a Board of Civil Service Commissioners in Cities of the first clnss having
organized Police and Fire Departments, and
Whereas under said Act it is the duty of the City Council to elect three mem-
bers to such Board of Commissioners for the term of two, four, and six vn9rs, respect-
ively.
Therefore be it, ordained by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Ark-
ansas:
Section One: That N. F. Drake is hereby elected for the term endinr- April l.sb,
1935: A. P. Eason is hereby elected for the term ending April 1st, 1937: and S. J.
Campbell is hereby elected for the term ending April 1st, 1939, to serve as members
of the Board of Civil Service Commissioners of Ff.yett,eville.
Section Two: The immediate necessity of complying with the provisions of the
State law in regard to the orcanization of the Police &r-4 Fire Departments it Cities
of the first class created an emergency requiring* that this Ordinance shall become,
onerative immediately upon its passage and approval.

accordingly. Al.dernn n Bynum moved that the bills he allowed and the Clerk he instructs
to draw warrants for same upon the Proper funds. Alderman Harding seconded the motior
which rece.i.ved the entire vote of the Council.

Alderman Carter seconded the motion which was duly passed by the. Council.

Judie R. P. Nifona, and City Attorney V. James Ptak, for Past services rendered, at
the suggestion of Tlavor Tribble,
Alderman Sanders then made a motion that the Council adjourn Sine Die. This notion
was seconded by Alderman Stanford and received the unanimous vote of the Council.

the oath of office, to Mayor T. S. Tribble and Iaayor Tribble then administered the
oath of office to the newly elected officers as follows; Aldermen elected for the
two vear•term, J. F. Stanford, hard 1, J. C. Peal, Ward 29 J. K. Gregory, Ward 3, and
Geo. Sanders, T'lard 4: City Treasurer, Roy Nix, 2 years: Police Judge, Clem Pearson,
2 years: City Clerk, Oton Phillips, 1 ,year.
